I bought a 10er of Pinar del Rio Habana Sun Grown robustos for $15 on free fall about a year ago. Smoked one last night and damn it's a tasty smoke for a buck fitty.

Anyone else have a nomination for best less than $2 a stick smokes.

Cerdan, if you can find them now.

$1.25/stick shipped.

LHC Oscuro Fuerte
GH2002
5Vegas (Firkin, a few others)
Flor de Oliva Robusto (wish they wouldn't flavor the tip)
they all benefit from some rest
picked up all of these for $1.75/ea, or less

the best deal for me is picking up the True Grit Sampler for $22 (happens now and again)
that's under $2/ea for pretty good daily smokes

NO.........made a mistake - NOT the Firkin........just the plain Cask Strength "The Barrel"........comes in the 5 Vegas Quattro Nickel Sampler which I've grabbed for $7 on occasion

Got 20 of the GH Vintage 2002 Churchills for $39 bout a year ago too. Had some burn issues initially but were tasty. Got much better with age. The GH Tres Siglos (now Triple) robustos are also a very good cigar that I've gotten around the $2 mark in the past.

My favorite 5V 'A' is the Atomic, but the Anomoly is a close 2nd. I once smoked an Atomic down to the nub without the ash falling off. Those babies are densely rolled by rarely see any issues with the draw on them.

I used to smoke the LGC Wavell Maduros back in the day and I hafta say the 5 Vegas A Atomic is just a better cigar.

I truly love a well aged Quorum......either in the corona or the robusto.I have some corona's with 3+ years on them and they smoke like a $10 cigar.

J. Fuego Origen Original, 5 x 44 petit corona from Honduras
Honduran/Nicaraguan Corojo filler
Costa Rican Corojo binder
Brazilian Corojo wrapper

Around $13 for a fiver.

There's a fiver of J. Fuego Origen Belicosos up for grabs, current bid to win $13
5.5 x 52

A little over the OP max cost but might be worth a try.

I love the 'A' Apocalypse although I usually avoid a ring gauge that big. Haven't had a bad one of those yet! Seems like whenever anyone mentions one of the 'A' series it's always with a really good opinion of them. I just got a few Triple A's that I've yet to try and hope they are just as good.

I normally keep a tight lid on this kind of information, so the bidding doesn't go way up on my favorite low end sticks, but, I'll give you one. CI Anniversary. Haven't seen these up for bid lately, but, Sister sites always have pretty decent deals on these, especially the humidor site.

I agree with Stogie on the CI Annys.... Forgot about that stick. A lot of chocolate and malt if I recall correctly.

I woke up in a rare charitable mood and decided to share my secret value smoke. Nice to see another monger doing the same.

I was inspired to dig one of my GHV2002 Churchills and smoke it this afternoon.

Excellent flava. Ash tends to be very flaky but that negative more than offset by the other goodness in this stick.

Last $2 smoke I recall smoking was 5 or 6 years ago twas before anyone knew who AJ Fernandez was, La Cuna Bin 85, then he got popular and those Bin 85 went to chit

Since then I have not "chased" budget smokes for the sake of smoking...I don't always smoke, but when i do, I prefer Anejo....stay smoky my friends

I just tried my first Obsidian Double Perfecto like 2 days ago and I wasn't that happy with it.... I only ordered 2 and it looked good from a distance but I thought upon closer inspection it's construction was real sloppy and it was a real bland one note smoke. I'm leaving the other one in the box for a bit and will revisit it in 6 months to see if that helps any.

All the reviews I read about it said it was a really good cigar so I ordered 2 and got em cheap. A few reviews also mentioned the construction issues.

I bought a bunch. Handed my Bro C3S a box last time I was up his way. The petite corona was his morning smoke almost every day. Glad to be able to hit a Buddy with a stick you can't find anymore.

Very strong smoke too (for me). But very good for the price. The Obsidian sampler pack was a great buy.

You think I'm telling these azzhats about my $1 - $2 gems, just so they can bid them up? Let them do what I had to do, and try dozens and dozens of dog rockets to find those gems.

Actually you have and a few should chime in and add the OR purple M's you turned some of us on to, they match this category, least for some of us! ha

5V Gold Maduro is decent for the money.

I know I'm going to get grief for this but...the Gurkha Empire sticks (IV & VI) are surprisingly good.

Are you referring to the current production, re-blended CI knock off dog rocket versions? Seriously? The Morado is a mere shadow of the original, and the last Black Pearl and Rojo I tried actually made me sick to my stomach (not from strength, just from being bad).

If you ever tasted the original releases, you know, the blends that actually got all those 90+ ratings, you’d be as p*ssed off at these imposters as I am.

I have at least a tray each of the gold maddies as well as Empires (IV, VI & III) that I got off of the singles auction last winter for a buck a stick. All good everyday smokes.

really.......I smoked one or two some time ago and was not impressed at all..........I'll have to try some again (have some torps resting)
I actually like most of the 5Vegas line (Cask, AAA, Miami, etc.) as a solid/consistent daily

+1, +2, +3 !!!!! Don't remember who it was here that tipped me off on these but I've had many of them and they are an excellent cheap cigar. I really didn't expect much and just wanted something different for smoking while I mowed-"YES, the actual YARDGAR!"- and was more than pleasantly surprised at just how good these were.Beer Beer Beer
