I know they're hard to tear off...that's not the question.

I just opened a new bundle and the band looks very WHITE.

All of the other bands I've had seem to be off-white/yellow hued.

Are the new cigars being labeled with a "whiter" band, or have they always been white and over time the wrapper's oils just changed the older ones to a more yellow tone over time?

I was curious if anyone else noticed a change.

T52 bands are more of a creamy color. LP9 bands are more white.

At least this is the case on the Flying Pigs. I dont have any T52 smokes other than those but I've always noticed that the T52 were different.

Not sure Mike. The bands are linen paper so they are very absorbent, but it could also easily be printing run differences.

All of my bands are white. I have some 2010-2012 in all varieties.

When you hold them up to the light, can you make out the "liga" watermark? If not, then they're fakes. Send them to me for proper disposal.

They absorb the dye from the wrappers.

Yes I agree that 52 bands off white and I've had a lot of 9s that were very very white.

Per Joey Drew via FB: Liga bands use a very porous un-coated paper which indeed changes color over time due to wrapper contact... if those seem whiter than normal they just haven't been sitting long is my best guess.

I can't keep any of mine long enough for them to turn yellow!
