Nah... middle of Kansas... but didnt have anything good in a smaller bottle.

overpaid for macallan at the hotel bar last night, so hit a store and that was about my only option.

Sort of, my nephew was officially adopted on the 1st after 4 long years. So my brother in law and I were celebrating that also. Today we are having a party for the whole family to celebrate. Should get into some Basil and I brought a bottle of Black Grouse to start off with.

anyone ever tried Balvenie 10 yr founders reserve? Found a bottle in my in-laws pantry...they don't even drink at all so I snagged it up. I see it was discontinued some time ago, not sure when.

I think Dickel Rye is go to whisky. I always have a bottle around. Last night I had Laphroaig 18, my local Costco had it for $60. Had it with a Perdomo Bugatti maduro. It was a wow. Going to pick up a second bottle today.

Upon more research, I found its worth at least a couple hundred, if you can even find it.

I gave it back to my FIL, can't keep it in good conscience. Even though I know it's just going to sit there.

Next time you are having dinner over there suggest a splash of it. I would have to try it now that I had my hands on it.

You guys got me back on bourbon again. Of the several I've tried lately the best were: Jefferson's very small batch (NH only), Angel's Envy and Four Roses single barrel. Picked up a bottle of Elmer T Monday and waiting to open it ($ 34 here). I live in the sticks and I got all these except for the Jefferson's in town after I couldn't find them in nearby cities.

What's different about the NH only bottle? I have Jeffersons Reserve very small batch and it's very good. I did just read that Jeffersons does not distill their own spirit and prefer to be thought of as blenders not distillers. They are definitely great blenders.
