Of the few I've had some have been good, others not so good. Only had a couple blow up on me. None have been good enough to want more, even at steep discount.

There have been a couple that I loved. The G5 was a great smoke and I really loved the Micro Batch TPB-1. Sadly...both gone.

Problem is, after I enjoyed two warlords, I bought s third and it blew up. Fourth plugged and blew up. Bought a 10pc sampler and 7 plugged and unraveled, the other 3 were awful and I put em out early

I've smoked a few Gurkhas and I liked most of them, Beast, Titan, Centurian, Park Avenue, and some of the older ones that I've forgotten what they were called... and I don't specifically recall any construction issues with any of them. Think

Edit: Oh, well, there was this Ancient Warrior the other day... but that was because it was after midnight, kinda dark on the VH patio, and I accidentally started unwraveling it as I took it out of the cello. d'oh!

I'll buy some if at the right price < $2.00 (shipped) on CBid and only in larger rings. The construction is lacking, even to (downright) rough but they seem to use aged leaf of good but not exceptional quality. These are not of the quality of Gurkhas that I've had in the past. I agree with JadeRose that the G5 was a good smoke. Either way, I've never had a Gurkhas that I would call a superior smoke.

For me, the key is to cut them carefully. An incremental guillotine cutter, like the cheap (but good) Black Ops available on CBid, should help keep the stick from exploding.

I used to like the old Titan, then my tastes changed. I did have Titan blow-up in my face with a shockingly loud snap that ripped a 1 inch gash in the middle of the cigar, just as I was puffing on it.
I was dumbfounded, and my heart rate jumped a bit.
When I'm in the mood for a dull, steady, dry cedar only profile cigar, I reach for a Centurian. Luckily, I have 2 left, which will last me 2 life-times.

NO,

But, I went to grab some empty boxes at my local the other day. Haven't been in since last fall, and the owner was telling another customer that they had a Gurkha event the previous weekend and it was one of THE busiest EVER, hehehehehehehe. I see those big scary boxes sitting on the top shelf, LOL

I wouldn't have showed up even for the freebies.

ive come to notice that as many people that dont like gurkha there is double the amount that do love gurkha..to each his own..i do like some of there product, the beauty, the titan, but if you really want to change your out look on gurkha i highly..highly highly yes 3 highly's suggest you give the gurkha rogue a try...you will not believe you are holding a gurkha product in your hand..i have tryed them in every size and have never been dissapointed and combined in all sizes i have smoked almost 2 boxes worth and still have not ran into anything less then a stellar and enjoyable cigar..the two best size out of all are the rascal and the Armageddon, when ever i see a special on this stick or a price i feel to be fair i stock up regardless of how many i still have in stock..

I could give a crap about the name "Gurkha". If I like it, I'll smoke it. Gurkha is the new Puros Indios around here. Guys used to do nothing but slag on them. But somebody must like them...they sell a helluva lot of them.

CBID has had a few of the G5s singles in the last couple of weeks. I got 2 of them and will be letting them sit a while- hope they are good ones.

Ghost and Rogue were the 2 I have had so far. Ghost was surprisingly good, not sure what they go for on here but probably worth a 5er if cheap. Rogue needed a lot of time in the humi and I couldn't finish it. Wrapper split in 100 spots on the rogue also.

Yep, singles at $ 5 a stick right now. Not on the CI list of brands, so this just might be a few they found somewhere that they didn't know they still had.

When I first started smoking cigars back in 2008 I fell for the Gurkha advertising and nice looking bands. I bought a bunch of samplers and I just didnt get how they could be rated so high. A Couple friends of mine that dont like them also told me to try the cellar reserve so I bought two. Flavor and taste were very good but the wrapper started to blow up after a 1/3. I tried the second one after letting it age for a couple months and wrapper blew up again. Shame on me and never again will I smoke one!!!

hehe,

I was given 2 as a "credit" for a chip in the Humidor veneer from a vendor.

The bronze wax Reserve, and another one that I gave to Busa, hehe.

That cellar reserve was a job keeping the burn line even and there were a few splits as it smoked, it was ok, but I certainly would NEVER pay for one!!!

I've had very few problems with Gurhkas blowing up and splitting. I hope all the negativity keeps the prices down. I picked up a 5er of Seductions in the brief time CBID had them and they were darn good. They do make a lot of mediocre cigars and a few terrible ones. There are about 5 or so that I would stock up on if the price was right and I could find them.

I had a guest that liked the Titan, he has had some good cigars before tasting this one. I usually pick up a few boxes for the ships crew, of course we have no taste. I am still searching for the holy grail of cigars. If you are stuck with the beast. I will see what I can do to spread the word with the crew.

So, last night I smoked that other Ancient Warrior I had stashed in the Vets Hall humidor. I was careful pulling the cello off this time.

Right off the bat it smoked easy, lot of smoke, good flavor... and no construction issues at all.

I don't get it. So many people talk about the crap that gets put out under their label. Then you see people post on the threads that talk about how crappy these cigars are. Then those same people buy these cigars and complain about how crappy a cigar they are.

Yet there are tons of excellent cigars that can be had at the same price point.

WTF?

Lol, I found 3 G5's inside a box of Punch Presidente's in the bottom of my humi the other day! Pulled those babies out and put into my tabletop for ashing. These be goooood. I had dated them way back when and they are from 2008.

Stopped in at the Vets Hall after work tonight. (...like you didn't see that coming!) ;-)

I pulled a Gurkha Park Avenue out of the humidor. I've smoked 2 or 3 of these now.. and my opinion is that it is an excellent smoke! A bit on the mild side but it had a lot of good flavor, an easy draw, and a lot of smoke. Down at about the 1 inch left point it had that strong nicotine thing going on. I'm not sorry that I bought a box of those not long ago.

After that I had a box pressed Fallen Angel. That was another excellent smoke. It had a bit more power than the Park Avenue but it did not detract from it. When it got down to the 1 inch point it was a lot like the Park Avenue with the strong nicotine kick.

Hey Gurkha makes a Holy Grail- comes in a special box too, but I've only seen them for sale in the south Southeast.
