How long ago did Cbid start carrying these? Never had the Lp UF13 but if it is anything like the other gars in that line it is mighty tasty. I have some of the original surrogates and I really liked then. The Lp seem pricey on here but I don't know the normal going rate. I would suspect that they are a lot like the Opus on here and get jacked up in price big time from crazy bidders.

Cbid takes a MAJOR LOSS on ALL HTF cigars....

If you like the LP9, the UF13 is a stronger version with muted flavors.

IMO

Don't know what CBid / CI charges for the UF13, but as a reference point, my local charges $15 for them.

They have been carrying Surrogates for quite a while and I've seen quite a few 5'ers of UF13's on here as well. The UF13's usually go for 2-3x over retail.

Since latelier took over the surrogates, they're for sale about anywhere now.

Does not sound like like a smoke I would spend a ton of money on the. I do love the tastes of the LP9 but couldn't care less about getting a stronger version.

So Latelier took over? Is it just distributing or have they changed the blends also?

The surrogates were always a 'Latelier' project in the sense that they were something Pete Johnson did that he didn't want labeled as a Tatuaje. No real change besides the normal year to year variations you can expect to some degree in any cigar.

I think that the UF-13 is closer to a T-52 than a LP9, but yeah, more strength, less balance. I prefer the T-52

Think I may try and get my hands on one or two of the uf13 (not at a $16 per stick rate) just to give it a try. I like the T52 over the no9 also but have had burn/draw issues with the t52.

There were surrogates before Latelier existed. They wouldn't say who made them because they were a blatant rip off of the viaje skull and bones. There was an apology posted to viaje on the site that carried them. It may still be in the blog history on that site. Now that that owner is part owner in latelier, they're everywhere.

Yeah I remember when they came out. Only could be had at a certain online place. Yeah the banding and name is almost identical. Although I do like both of the smokes. S&b will always be better IMHO. I have some of the skull breaker and tramp something or other. Have to revisit them but could very well be a everyday smoke for me since they are more accessible now.

I think that when the surrogates first came out it was pete and the guy who made his t shirts that came up with all the blends.now pete and his brother took it over I guess?
