C-Bid Shipping Slowing down?

What's going on with the shipping of orders? Lots of posts on various internet forums about this. I have 3 orders I bought last weekend, my preferences are to ship right away, and yet no tracking numbers for any of the 3 orders, yet they all say "shipped". What's going on in the shipping department??

I am in the same boat 3 orders from last weekend still nothing. I know they were backed up from Memorial day. My guess is they never caught up, and now with Fathers day they are still behind. I do think moving forward they should put prepparing to ship instead of saying shipped. Regards Herfing

I'm in the same boat and opened a thread about this yesterday. I messaged CS and they took 1/2 off the shipping. I just hope I get them before I leave for vacation.

I agree - shipping is awful right now. Our warehouse staff has been working 7 days a week since Memorial Day Weekend to keep up with Father's Day demands and it hasn't helped much. The shared fulfillment center is just overwhelmed. There's not a lot more I can say. They've beefed up staff to help. There's 6 conveyor lines leading to one automated scanning station which just can't keep up with the continuous flow of orders. Last week alone, the warehouse fulfilled about 70,000 packages and just couldn't keep up.

All I can do is apologize for the ongoing delay and tell you they're working their butts off to get it done. Contact Customer Service for any further updates.

If you're running 24/7, that's about 6.9 packages a minute.
What's the big deal?
Maybe less cigar breaks for the warehouse staff?

In a former life I was a shipping clerk in two loading docks. 7 packages a minute is a pretty intense pace especially if 24/7

If only it was this easy we'd have everything out the door. Your order isn't sitting in a box in the humidor with us saying, "Nope, its too much manpower to take it to the UPS truck." There are more issues than just putting it on a UPS truck. That's a bit naive. We DID ramp up our staffing. We ARE offering OT to anyone who will work it. We ARE working 7 days a week (although its not 24/7 as someone assumed above - we don't have that kind of supervisory manpower).

Let me explain briefly. Our Pickers - the people who actually walk around the humidor and the racks to find the its on each order - can typically do 30 - 50 orders at a time, depending upon what the order contains. An order like the one above most likely contains about 30 - 35 items by itself. That means that instead of one person doing 30 - 50 orders, one person does one order. And there are a lot of CBid orders like that. Because of the size of the warehouse and the possible locations involved, it could take that one person 30 minutes or more to do that one order, having to walk up and down each of the aisles and then through the racks, finding the items. This is another reason why the shipping is what it is.

We'll get it shipped as soon as we can. We're in this business to make money. NOT shipping orders is counter to that so believe me when I tell you we want your order to ship as much or more than you do.

yet here I am, 8 days later, and still no shipping, no tracking numbers, and not even an email with an estimated shipping date. Just an email would be very nice customer service instead of silence and us wondering what is happening.

Ouch. I'm only at 6 days since the order went through. I'm going to run out of cigars soon.

Anyone know roughly how long the backlog is then? 10 days? Two weeks?

Not everyone is concerned about when they get their cigars. Then there is the overlap of people who have multiple orders, invalid emails (yeah, that happens a lot), and the time it takes to put that kind of email together. With the Father's Day crush, its difficult to get one of the current CigarBid CSRs to find the time to put something like that together.

Anyway, it looks like the orders through Friday 6/6 shipped today. You should get your tracking confirmations shortly.

I don't feel bad now. It's been awhile since I bought anything here and was wondering what was going on. I sent an e-mail to ask, but it hasn't been answered. Guess I'll stick with my local shop like I've been doing. Cheap cigars is no excuse for poor service.

I've gone ahead and e mailed C.S., regarding the slow shipping situation, as I've done a few times in the past.

It would be considered good customer service when the customers don't have to initiate the contact, when a systemic backlog of orders overwhelms the company. A simple mass e-mail apologizing for any inconvenience this may have caused to the customer base would be appreciated.

I have plenty of cigars to smoke, and will not be smoking anything in the last order, or so, for quite some time, and I know C-Bid will make it right (they always do), however, I feel good customers deserve better communication when these delays happen.

For example: If I owed you and I said I'll pay you Tuesday. If I couldn't pay Tuesday, for whatever reason, I would initiate contact, apologizing for not paying, and would make arrangements to pay soon with interest, because I didn't live up to my end of the bargain. I feel I would owe you at least that. Rant off.

My three orders should have shipped Thursday and are marked as shipped but with not tracking information as of today Tuesday. I can only assume they have not shipped. This happened to me one other time and I was told the lot was on backorder even though identical lots were still being auctioned. Eventually Cigarbid cancelled the order and issued a refund. Is there a defacto reserve bid by Cigarbid?

Nope, no reserve. As noted above, ive won many items at the $1 opening bid. Theres been other orders that were delayed a bit, but they always come eventually. Theres no conspiracy to hold your orders or get more money from you. In fact as Trish elaborated on previously, larger multiple item orders are going to jam up the works more than a single box or fiver.

They're swamped right now. You'll get your stuff, just be patient.

Unlike other sources, I have always received my orders from Cigarbid. I don't care how long it takes them as long as I get it. I am always sure I will eventually receive my order unlike orders from places like Amazon.com. And processing 7 orders a minute is quite a work load, especially in betyween two major holidays. Whiners!!!! ThumbDown

Its not whether people care when they get their stuff its the principle of the thing. I know they can get behind I mean everyone does at some point but this is to the point of wow. The principle of the thing is when I pay and you take my money I want my product or service. My bank account has been charged and my order is still yet to ship. My brother in law called about his order last week and someone in cs told him they were 4 days behind. Now it looks like it is 6 or 7 according to post in here. Excuses are excuses and no one cares when it comes to their money but as someone stated earlier update emails should be sent especially since my order states shipped with no tracking for 4 or 5 days now.

Such a strict policy on competitor reference here in the forums but I have to say that all the competitors I buy from ship immediately upon payment.

Do you think it would work the opposite way? Would cbid trust us enough to send us some cigars then we pay them 7-10 days later?

I've never actually noticed when they hit the cc, upon receipt of order, when packaged, when marked as shipped or when shipped. I'm on vacation in Maine right now so I'll have to check when I get home. I have noticed that tracking information doesn't show up lately when the order is marked as shipped and it appears that that information shows up after UPS picks the package up. It's been a while since I was keenly aware of how UPS was done and perhaps now they have the package info prior to physical pick-up.
