I know, I know this had been done before. Yesterday I was over at a friends and he pulled out a couple of Gurkha War Pigs. It was so bad I had to put it out after about 2 minutes, he made it to about 3 minutes. Flavors of tar and burnt wood with am odd vinegar finish. He tasted the same. Had to garrgle twice to get rid of the awful taste. As a sorry my bad he pulled out a couple LFD maduro 200's. We finished with JDN dark Antonio's. Both went well with the Laphroaig quarter cask we were drinking. What have you smoked that was so bad you put it out almost immediately?

My SIL thought she had scored some Cuaba CC's for my brother and me while on vacation in the islands. We fired them up after dinner expecting great things. At first I thought it was because CC's are supposed to be strong, so we kept at it. A dried dog dropping would have been less harsh. I only made it to the fourth or fifth puff. My eyes and throat burned for days. 20 years later I can still remember the pain in my throat.

My math may be a bit fuzzy but I thought those were introduced in 1996. Two years after your experience with them. That's probably the reason they were horrible.

Could have been 18 years. I'm finishing strong on becoming a fog . It was still so bad I can remember it vividly. I still wretch when I think about it. A White Owl Pineapple would have been better. At least the White Owl is smokeable.

Holy cow I completely forgot about those terrible house brands from that so-called competitor down in Florida.

I stand corrected those were worse.

I got a Gurkha Warpig in a sampler a while back and had the same experience as the op. Additionally it seemed to be one of those "fireproof" wrapper Gurkhas, tossed after about 10 minutes and 8 attempts to get the wrapper to burn!

My brother bought a bundle of tomsuxs house brand..well, when I say buy, I mean it came free with the 20 count humi which itself only cost about $20-30, so you can imagine the actual cost.. Anyway, I recall us trying like hell to smoke those, they were more resistant to flame than any Alec Bradley, and they didn't taste very good..at all..but we got through that bundle, looking back we shoulda composted those dam things.

Close second had to be the Phillies Chocolate cigars my Mom mistakenly bought me and my brother one Christmas... Kinda had to smoke them cause Mom, but man that sucked...

The fact the Thomsuxs come in below a freaking chocolate Philly tells you all you need to know about the taste on those.

I had an Arganese CL3 today that didn't last but, 4 puffs, and my palate is angry about the last 3. This was not the worst ever, but, the worst lately.

Life is too short........

Worst I ever had: Tatiana Mocha It was like smoking a candied burning tire. YUK!

Even though it has been 6 or 7 years, the Liga IV has to be the absolutely worst cigar I ever lit, followed closely by another Gurkha, the Vintage.
Both invoke a gag reflex when I even think about them.

The Liga IV Almirante CT is not really a bad cigar, but they are packed way to tight and without a drawpoking you can't even smoke most of them. They are mild and definitely a yard gar.
Gurkha makes several cigars with the name Vintage in them. Can't recall a bad one that I've had.

Flor de Gonzales. I think they cost about $19.99 or $29.99 for twenty of them. It was bitter, nasty and left a foul taste in my mouth. I even tried to force myself to smoke it but by the 5th or 6th puff, it was a lost cause. Not knowing anyone I hated so much to give them the rest of these dog rockets, I threw them all out, including 90 percent of the only one I had tried to smoke. Cursing

Thought nothing would beat out the VS Yankee president thingy which is served in my memory as toasted newspaper. However, Acid Toast was the worst. It was like smoking cologne. Worse? Aged cologne.

acid toast

Some of the Flor De Gonzales are not very good, tho I did have a "90 miles" robusto that was OK.

Tonygraz--iI bought several 5-packs of 90 Miles and really liked them. That inspired me to buy a box. Almost every stick in the box was seriously flawed in construction--uneven burn, continually touching up, caps falling off and wrappers unwrapping after a few puffs. The online store I had bought them from didn't make good and I haven't bought a single stick from them or from Gonzales in almost two years. Frying pan

Great to know someone else can't stand that stick. Not sure what went wrong with that one based on what it is supposedly composed of, I should like it, but its gosh-awful to me.

That being said, its not the worst I've ever had. Worst in recent years was one made by hand "while you watched" in Las Vegas. Also had a very nasty one from a "dog rocket" $1.00 bin at a B&M store, but at least they were honest.

Worst "branded" one that you could buy around here would be a VS Primos Tobacco. At its best reminded me of when i burn leaves in the fall and the wind shifts so I get a blast in the face.

Hey Bro--If you try to smoke a Rocky Patel R4 or Pirates Gold, it will make those two taste like Padrons. Yes, I know Pirates Gold is made by Puros Indios. OhMyGod

To Mievalley--Keep in mind that one man's treat is another man's poison. The Edge, Edge Light, Vintage 1990 and 1992, as well as the Decade are outstanding cigars. The only complaint I have against Rocky is his quality control. He has too many cigars that you have to throw away, mainly because of construction issues. If his cigars were cheapos I wouldn't even mind that too much, although it is still annoying. But, at the price he sells these cigars at, it puts them on almost the same price level as Cubans or Davidoffs. horse

To Nolan: I had the same experience with the latest batch of Pioneer Valley Cigars I bought from CI. I think the wrapper was asbestos. Threw away about half of the cigars in frustration. Must be something new. d'oh!
