It's based on the person's net worth and their ability to pay. Sarcasm

It's based on an advanced algorithm, I could explain it but Trish would just come in and say that it doesn't exist.

You have to pay them all this week...for everybody.

Trial by fire.

Don't cry...we ALL had to do it.

Post your credit card numbers, expiration dates and 3 digit code on the back of the cards too!

Matches! We don't need no stinking matches. They send me lighters with my orders. But don't tell anyone.

All kidding aside, you will find that C-bid's shipping charges are in line with other purveyors. High shipping charges would deter potential buyers.

AND, from the website:

How do I know if I won?

We will send you an E-mail Confirmation of your winning bid, the item description, and quantity. Also, you will receive an End of Day Order Summary at midnight detailing the total charges to your credit card. This is done to factor in shipping savings for you in cases where you may have won multiple items on any given day (more on Shipping Savings Program)

If I win more than 1 item, can you send them together so I can save on shipping charges?

In most cases, yes. For your convenience, an "Order Summary" invoice containing your entire order activity will be automatically emailed to you either daily or weekly (depending the option you selected), and will include information on all the bids you may have won during that period. This summary will help you save on shipping charges by combining items won during the period and will reflect the charges applied to your credit card (more on Shipping Savings Program)

What are my shipping options?

Standard shipping is UPS-Ground or USPS priority. Insurance fees may be added for products valued over $50, and signature fees may be added for items valued over $100. Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and FPO/APO charges may be higher. All orders will ship within 72 hours of closing and you can expect arrival within 2 to 8 business days after shipping, depending on your location.

My last order did the same thing. It was just a lone fiver so at first it thought maybe that was why but when I mentioned it to my wife she said that they've all come in the mail lately.

So UPS stops a block away from my house drops off my package at the post office, it sits there overnight and I get it about 2pm the next day. Brick wall

I got my last order on a Saturday, while UPS usually gets here on Monday or Tuesday. UPS takes Saturday off.

My last order went UPS to USPS also. My local USPS often leaves packages at the street under my mailbox. So I doubt I will be ordering from Cbid again.

Or, instead of talking about it here, you could contact Customer Service to see what your options are. But then you all know to do that, since you tell everyone who comes here whining about something to do that.

But its your choice. Herfing

Can also sign up for a ups account and "upgrade" out of smartpost for about $3.

Or call and see if they can ship ground instead of smartpost and weigh the cost difference

Makes perfect sense to me. Plus, it took 11 days to get a response here. Had he/she/it called customer service I'm sure an answer would have been had in less than 11 minutes. After all, isn't that why the customer service number is part of the master style sheet, so no matter what page one is viewing they have the number at their finger tips.

For what it's worth, customer service here is outstanding. Last night I called about a dumb bid I made and spoke to Shana, the same person who posts here ShanaC@CigarBid. It makes so much more sense to do that than to make an ass of oneself posting customer service issues here in the forums.

The forums are for making an ass of oneself for all other reasons.

So if you sign up for a ups account they'll deliver it that day? Can I use my work address as the ship to since we have a ups account at my work?

If this goes unanswered I will call customer service but since Shana is here I will ask the question for the benefit of others.

I actually don't have any information about the UPS MyChoice Accounts. We don't deal with them directly. This would be between UPS and the customer.

You can ship to your work address for your orders; however we cannot bill your work's ups account for the shipping if that makes sense.

Check out USPS GoPost. Limited number of Post Offices, but if avail, it is stellar. USPS PO by me has bank of lockers outside the PO. One day after CI/CB ships a box, I get an email and a text from my PO. I go to PO on way home, scan my gopost card and enter a PIN and the locker unlocks and I get my package. No more parcels on the steps all day or rental fees for a PO Box. ONLY drawback is for very large packages that don't fit in the lockers. They call me, but I can only pick up during working hours.

Dstieger -ya my PO has nothing like that. That does sound damn nice though!!

Shana,
I appreciate the reply. I'll check into it and reply back here.

I posted because it was strange that the brown truck used to deliver my orders and now I have to wait another day for snail mail to deliver it when I didn't change any of my shipping preferences.

Is this super saver shipping new at cbid or did my account mistakenly get platinum shipping priority for a short while?

Check usps.com periodically. When I first got my account nearly a year ago, there was only one in the region. I just did a search and found a bunch more nearby. I do live and work in fairly urban area, but it does look like they're expanding.
