I have had a few of these and have liked them. It seems like there is 1000 sizes all with stupid names (which I can't keep straight). Which ones have you tried and which one did you like? Thinking about buying a box, I tend to like larger cigars right now so I was poking at the spellbound. Until I seen the prices...sheesh.

I have had the Spellbound, Sorcerer, Enchantment, Beli #1, and Tres Mystique. My favorite was a toro size but can't remember what they call it.

They are pricey and rarely see any at decent discount. Fave is the beli, corona gorda and robusto next, followed by the small pc (mystique?). Don't remember if I've had the spellbound, since I rarely smoke anything longer than 6-6.5," except for lances.

Personal favorite is the little petite corona, mystique? Mostly because I can't handle the strength of these. They're really, really good, but also very very potent and I'm a bit of a lightweight.

Closest thing I see to the toro is the robusto which is 5.5 x 50. Corona Gorda is 5.7 x 46.

CI shows an Eclipse tubo (toro) 6x52 on their website. I bought an Ashton cabinet selection robusto on vacation last summer, need to ash it.

I like Ashton's premium house selection cigars, they are $3 each at my 130 miles away local B&M.

Would get to go there tomorrow if I hadn't spent so much here on cigars. My wife is threatening things... so I won't even bother asking if we can stop there! Haha

WOW!!! Ashton VSG - Awesome, when I can afford one (single).
I have only had 3 and all were 7" x 49 (Churchill). I liked the mothership's staff review of the VSG, partially quoted below. So this extensive gar requires a serious commitment, but when I spend this much $, I have prepped with a nice meal and a nice single malt scotch and a glass of water.

"Now half-way through and this full-bodied selection is coming into its own. Exhaling through the nose adds another dimension of flavor and strength that nearly causes my eyes to water! Note – almost…I’m a full-bodied, full-flavored cigar fan, and a tear might be brought to the eyes of a weaker man. But not I! "

Go big and go long on these. Mike

Good smoke and so far I have had the beli 1, corona gorda, and the torpedo. I like them alol but if I were buying a box beli 1 would be my choice. I would normally go corona gorda, then robusto on most cigars but for some reason the belis Are My favorite in these.

Sorcerer is my favorite vitola.

I haven't explored this one in about a year, hmmm? I think I still have a few of these. I just may have to take one of them for a ride soon.

I am going to have to make a list of these damn names and their actually sizes. Whatever happened to just normal sizes like no2 or robusto or toro. Going to try and get my hands on one of each and smoke through them. After the holidays I may pick up a box.

I believe the spellbound is the Churchill. One of my favs. Wizard was another fine smoke. Really, don't think you can go wrong with any of them...then again I haven't had them all.

Corona Gorda or the tubo. BTW, they age very well, but if you get the tubos, carefully open and check each one. Sent a customer out w/ one, and 10 seconds later, he brought it back...tubo looked flawless, so I think someone at the factory hosed me....1 cigar looked like it had been on the floor of a taxi for a month. I'm not sure it actually had a wrapper on it, but I can't believe what I saw would even qualify as a decent binder. Every other one I've seen or smoked has been fine, BTW, just a heads up to check if you get the tubos. We started checking every tubo before sending a customer out w/ them after that, regardless of brand.

I do like me some VSG's... any size, but they gotta be fresh. These do not age well, in my personal opinion.

Fresh is good... old not so much.

I thought the same thing for quite awhile until I got back into some old boxes knocking around. While the cigar at around 2-3 years old became somewhat flat at about the 7-8 year mark they are something truly special. This of course is merely my opinion and I do not know what others would think.

Ndill, here you go,

Spellbound
7.5 x 54

Sorcerer
7 x 49

Torpedo
6.5 x 55

Illusion
6.5 x 44

Wizard
6 x 56

Eclipse
6 x 52 (Tube

Corona Gorda
5.75 x 46

Robusto
5.5 x 50

Belicoso No. 1
5.25 x 52

Pegasus
5 x 54

Enchantment
4.38 x 60

Trés Mystique
4.375 x 44

Well said MAC, words of wisdom, Smashie can verify this, Ram, purchased & fired up, Smashie, like most on here taught it best to age, as most all do with cigars, long story short, Ram's smoked much better than Smashie's aged ones. RollEyes

An alternative to Ashton VSG is the Fuente 8-5-8 Sun Grown Special Edition.
It has the same wrapper as the VSG and is the only one of Carlito's personal blends released to the public. They are NOT like the regular 8-5-8 Sun Growns, it's a hell of a cigar, I could waste a day away smoking them. If you can get to some I think you'd be pleased and the price point while still salty is way below the pull for a box of Ashton VSG's.
I have the Illusion and the Wizard VSG, the smaller sizes are azz kicking potent, the Tres Mistique is like a Short Story with rocket fuel.
