i couldnt find a tread like this, if there is i apologize but i am still in shock of my find and am really curious if others have had similar things happen to them.

i was at a new shop looking for a few cigars i cant get here yet and got the shock of my cigar career... i found two 1998 partagas decades and then sitting next to them were two macanudo vintage 1988 and one vintage 1984!!!!! this was just some smoke shop that happens to sell cigars... the owner of the shop didnt even know about cigars or what his stock was and i had to search his mixed section for 30 minutes to find all this.

the closest i have come to this before was a shop i frequent every time i am in michigan that lets some rare stuff go for the retail of it when it came out. but i dont think even he has stuff this old in his shop.

what stories do you all have?

There a couple of B&M's in DE that have older cigars that can't be found anywhere. Every time I'm in Ocean City,
MD I drive up the coast and hit these two shops.

Last time I was there in September I left with a box of OR D.P. Blue Generosos from one of the B&M's and a box of OR 601 blue torps from the other. Wish I had more "expendable income"!

There was plenty of this kind of stuff left at both these vendors and I can't wait to make it back!

Found a mix of Davidoff Millianium Blend cigars on a close out deal (~1/2 price) because the shop was discontinuing carrying Davidoff cigars. Back when I still smoked NCs.

About 4-5 years ago I walked into my local who was the 1st shpo in this area to carry the Tatuaje line back in 2003 and was a good friend of Pete Johnson due to taking that chance.

He had a new cigar that Pete released only 5000 of as a tribute to a friend who had passed away. It was a SW Reserva with a Maduro wrapper. There were 6 boxes and after smoking one I went back and bought 4 boxes. Most of those were either gifted or sold at cost to others here who could not find them anywhere.

Think I still have a small amount of those and they are the best cigar Pete has ever made IMO.

Garb em!! If you find a shpo that doesn't gouge prices on Opus and Anejo's splurge and grab what you can. If you don't like them I would be more than happy to take them off your hands Herfing

I walked in to a tobacco shop that was closing out their cigar section. I picked up a box with about ten random sticks in it and asked the pricing. The guy said, "give me twenty and you can have the whole box." I wasn't smoking cigars at the time. So, I gave the whole box to my uncle asa birthday gift. I don't remember what was in the box, but my uncle swore it was about $120 worth of sticks.

I got some Nosotros on close out at the best shpo in Portland years ago when I met Elkhunter. Locally one shpo had problems moving the AF Holiday boxes so they started selling all the individual cigars @$10/ea so I grabbed all the Opus and Anejo (they were DC size I believe). another local shpo had a a quarter box of Centurions and El Ray de Los Habaos both OR for $6/ea but many had cracked wrappers. Still smoked great though. Same shpo also had old Perdomo cardboard 4 Ct boxes of ESV Maduros for $19 sent more than a couple of those out.
