Are the current cigars, ave only not reconquista, still the same as when they came out or has something changed? And what is your opinion on them?

I smoke quite a few Ave Marie. There seems to be 4 "Styles." There is the Ave Marie Immaculata, which is their Mild-Med line. The straight Ave Marie is their Med-Full Line. The Ave Marie Reconquista is their Ultra-premium, which is supposedly a full. Now within the Immaculata line and the straight line, each size has a different name. I think the flavor is supposed to be similar between each name, it is just a size difference. I can't differentiate between them anyway. I say there are 4, because the Holy Grail is their Salomon sized that I think stands along like the Reconquita, but it just might be a variation of the straight. How they compare to cigars in the past. I am not certain. I can send you a sample of each, if you want.

I've had a few that were really good, but most.ci house brands are disappointing. Everything I've bought from them has needed a ton of rest.

The first few I smoked 3-4 years ago were fantastic, had a unique musky flavor. Since then, they've lost that unique quality.

I like the Oliva Saisons and a few of the MoW blends (that's about all I've tried of the CI exclusives)

Haven't tried any of the Ave Maria, I probably wouldn't buy any on my own accord, too much other stuff that I know for a fact that I like.

Only ones I would probably buy again are the Saisons, standard Mow and the MoW puro authenticos.

Oh, tried the Pepin legend series too, forgot about that one (not a fan) so I most likely won't try any more legend series. Figure if Pepin's isn't all that great, then the rest of them probably aren't either.

I agree with you on overpriced and maybe over-hyped, but they are definitely not over-rated. I haven't smoked one in quite a while but, as I remember, they were quite good, much better than the non-Cuban Montecristo or Cohibas..

being "much" better than NC Montecristo or Cohiba isn't a ringing endorsement........they are both mediocre at best cigars...........so, Ave Marias are quite over-rated........but like I said..........that's just me

Had an Ave Maria Reconquista gifted to me. Not a bad smoke. Found it to be more on the medium side.
Glad I tried it, but wasn't inspired to try any more, especially for the price.

it has been back and forth like that here, cold and friggin cold. Nice temps in the day but ouch at night. I missed a good opportunity to share a cigar with my wife when she came up to see me this past week. She is gone on a job of 2 weeks.

So in your opinion, and it looks like the experience is extensive here , the Ave Maria's are a box worthy cigar? I will try and grab a few as well.

also it seems that you have some wide experiences, are you a cameroon fan? Have you had any great ones?

regards
C Green

There will be lots of opinions - got a box of the regular line Barbossa (Churchill) when CBid had them going for decent bids and thought they were milder than I typically smoke but as the smoke progressed the Ave Maria's have a nice flavor.
