Drove by the building where they announced the new Davidoff worlds biggest retail store and cigar bar.....I was expecting to see construction activity inside building shell. Not one interior improvement, no construction materials, no indication that anyone is doing anything there. The Davidoff "coming soon" sign is still on the window on this vacant storefront space. It's supposed to open this year....I was assuming before Christmas. Still enough time but the ghost town effect was curious, especially if they have signed a lease. They have lost several months already.........

It's a right to work state. It'll get done whenever it gets done. Or are illegal Haitians on strike?

Normally i would think so but this is only interior improvements...........if so they may not have had their plans ready or are still debating design.

Update from online permit center

June submittal - 3 months after announcement
Permit not issued yet - 3 more months
I suppose they are moving forward but not in a hurry

OK I'd like to post an update. Construction is now underway. If they are smart they get open by Nov 1.

Don't know if it's so much a Union issue as much as an OSHA issue when it comes to projects dragging out longer than necessary...I could tell you some stories
