Well that all depends.... If you are looking for fake cubans in glass top boxes pick them up at the resort. If you want to be sure of what you are smoking then bring your own....Herfing

Both.

You can transport cigars from home in your carry-on. No TSA questions asked.

Cutters are iffy. TSA may elect to confiscate them from you. Or not.
Don't chance losing your sacred Palio. Pack them in your check baggage.

Lighters are a DEFINITE NO-NO. Leave them home.
Buy one at your destination. Better yet, use stick matches. Pack them with your cutters.

Like HarleyD implied . . . all tourist CC's are fakes.

Enjoy your trip !

hey thread jack here but I am going in a week and wondered if there are any legit vendors in town that anyone might know of?

I know considering the location it is a long shot but just curious?

There is a limit to how much cigars or pipe tobacco you can take into Mexico free. It would depend on what resort you were going to as to whether I would buy cigars there. If it's the Moon palace or one of the other palaces or the Sunset group, I would bring my own.

awesome. I assume that this is a reputable place? I know LcDH boxes are usually listed like H&F boxes as far as credibility goes.

Cigars in carry on, checked baggage, whatever. Biggest (only) issue I have flying with cigars, international or domestic, is opening the traveldor after its been 'pressurized'. Cigars are fine. There is a very small risk bringing Cubans back through US customs, but I've never had an issue.

I've never had a cutter confiscated....in fact, I've only once had one pulled aside after xray and then it was a very easy conversation and on my way.

Lighters are a little trickier, but not too difficult. Soft flame bics are always ok - checked or otherwise. Fueled torches are frowned upon in both checked and carry-ons. I did have one TSA agent that simply emptied the fuel from my lighter and handed it back to me....nice guy. Most of the time, when torch is found, they confiscate it. So, for cigar torch, I either put a Ronson jet lite in checked bag and take my chances....and/or get some of the plastic torches -- like the Hong Kong specials (which I love even when not traveling) or even the plastic bodied ones from here, like these: http://www.cigarbid.com/...rch-lighter-case-of-10/

I've never had a plastic lighter confiscated.

I hope they are....it would mean they're incredibly distracted and fd up

besides, torch no-fly has nothing to do with terrorism...has to do with the 'risk' of pressurized butane leaking in a pressurized environment
