Now that you've been educated on VSU, what is the VSU of the cigar you're smoking? What say u ( it's Friday night so a lot of bourbon went into this post)?

5 - Illusione MK Ultra - wow a 3.9 VSU for a corona with a great coffee, leathery sweetness. Very memorable smoke.

#6. The JdN Anatano I just smoked put out a lot of smoke. Can you send me the Asian hooker, not liverocks, so I can have her measure the VSU? My guess is about a 4, but I'll need her to help me calibrate my sucking and blowing capacity.

6 - Illusione La Taureau - overall 3.0 VSU, started out in the 1.0 range then opened up into the high threes. Needed to dry box this. I think this was a little wet, burn issues and low VSU from the start. Not my flavor profile though, cedar flave and some sweetness and leather. I need spice and VSU!

9 -- LHC Oscuro Fuerte, maybe a 3.3, but that's speculation. I will have to wait until the PM in the SFR willyv is sending to calibrate my VSU meter before I can make definitive VSU ratings.

I don't think you would be disappointed at all. First third had decent vsu rating and really opened up to probably a 4.2-4.3.
I am impressed with this cigar all around. Great burn, flavor. I think it's the 20 yr.

11 - Cain F Lancero - 3.5 VSU - smoke volume is slowly going down. Other than a fantastic aroma, and just decent flavors, not a big fan.

12 - another Tat TAA - this one came in at 4.5 VSU - big billowing clouds of sweet creamy butterscotch goodness.

14 - Tat NHC Reserva - wow, never had this, nice smoke, good chocolate and leather and sweet. Solid and easy 4.2 VSU which is great for a 7x42 rg.

15 -- LP Undercrown... decent amount of smoke, maybe high 3's. But I was expecting more based on the raves here, plus the flavor was only good, not great. Does the lower flavor change the cigar's VSU? If a cigar produces a billow of smoke, in the mid 4's, but the taste and burn are lacking, does that affect the rating?

VSU is only a rating of smoke output and nothing to do with flavor. It does not factor into the rating. However, I usually pick up more flavors with the more smoke I get, hence why I think VSU is the base for a quality cigar.

I'm shocked to hear the VSU on the Undercrown was in the 3s. I've never had any LPs below 4. I've only smoked 2, but would agree the flavors are not "great" in terms of their diversity. It had a monotone, but overall nice sweetness throughout. Still think its a great cigar for the price.

Smoked my first yesterday as well and concur on the volume....tons of thick white-blue smoke and the secondary smoke was very pleasant in aroma!! Very nice cigar!!!

16 - MF Le Bijou Corona tips the Scales at 4.4. Another great flavored (chocolate and spice) smoke with a solid VSU! Love the smaller RGs with solid smoke output.

18 - FFP - meh, only about a 3.8 VSU which is very surprising for it being a DE and large rg. The flavors were just ok as well. This was not a memorable smoke IMO. I prefer the 9, T52, Rat, L40 much better. The pigs just don't do it for me.

19 - Bolivar Tubo Corona size (thanks Hombre). Half way in and this sucker will not open up. Need the assistance of my Asian Hooker. VSU rating comes in so far at 1.29. Decent flaves though, but not that earthy flavor bomb I expect from CCs.

Someone must've hijacked the SFR containing the PM, willyv. Asian hooker goes down!!!

20 -- RP V90 was tight, had to open it up a couple of times with a paperclip poker. Could only get about 3 max.

Dammit, my hookers keep disappearing in the mail. I'll start using FedEx. Wasn't a big fan of the one RP 90 I smoked last year.

24 - El Triunfador Lacero - solid 3.8 VSU - very nice for Lancero. Picking up some nutty flaves and leather. I like it. Cain F Lancero still best Lancero I've had and one of the best cigars of all time IMO.

25 -- El Triunfador box press robbie, same VSU as the lancero. Deep and strong tobacco flavor, almost minty at times..also got some leather. Very nice smoke.

27 Gurkha legend vintage 2001 torp 4.5 vsu, had to open garage door couldn't see after 1st 3rd. Not a bad smoke for cheap, leather earth n wood with a slight cocoa sweetness on the palate.

28 - NHC EL? Robusto - no idea which one, but VSU is outstanding 4.5 with sweet and savory (salty)flaves..love it! Like smoking a piece of sweet smoked sausage (can't believe I said that, too many DFH).
