Does the lower flavor change the cigar's VSU? If a cigar produces a billow of smoke, in the mid 4's, but the taste and burn are lacking, does that affect the rating?
VSU is only a rating of smoke output and nothing to do with flavor. It does not factor into the rating. However, I usually pick up more flavors with the more smoke I get, hence why I think VSU is the base for a quality cigar.
I'm shocked to hear the VSU on the Undercrown was in the 3s. I've never had any LPs below 4. I've only smoked 2, but would agree the flavors are not "great" in terms of their diversity. It had a monotone, but overall nice sweetness throughout. Still think its a great cigar for the price.
