I'm curious how much the average smoker around here keeps stashed away...

I really want to age some nice cigars, but I also really want to smoke all the exciting new cigars I have on hand that I've never tried before...

It's a constant balancing act of trying to forget what I have so I don't smoke it, and adding more humidors to hide stuff away in, but also remembering that smoking cigars is an important part of enjoying cigars...

6 months ago when I first started, I kept less than 5 on hand... 3 months ago, around 20...

With the shipment I got yesterday, my count is up to 150 or so, but I know that's child's play compared to many of the vets here...

I remember the feeling of 5 pack fervor... didn't last long, thanks to you guys... You guys have a special way of humbling a noob...

speaking of which, I'm starting to feel pretty humbled right now that I'm currently low man on the totem pole/poll...

I guess it's time for another new humidor... and then time to fill it...

yep, started with a 20 count, added a 50 and was a happy camper. Then I stumbled into this place and now my tupperdors have multiplied: 3 full 75 count and one that is 3/4 full.

The first step is admitting you have a problem. So what are you buying next?

Not sure, have to look and see what is coming out. I like new releases, just trying new cigars all the time.
Been busy working, still at work now for a couple more hours. One more night then off for ten days, gonna try like heck to get down to the FnH.

^^^ Off for 10 days sounds awesome. Enjoy! Sure it is very well deserved. Sounds like everyone heading to the FnH. Hope you have the time to make it. Things will be slow around here next weekend.

I started out the 1st of this year with 0 cigars. Somehow I now have on hand about 600 with another 120 or so on order. I have no idea how this actually happened. I am convinced that cigars multiply when the cooler door is closed. Note it self, bigger cooler this week. I blame all of you guys for this condition.

I started out with samplers and fivers until I built my profile. Now I buy boxes of my favorites. I have a Treasure Dome humi and it stays packed. I voted 100-200.

Agreed. That went away quickly once I had discovered my preferences. Now I have an end table humidor, a 100ct desktop and a Cooler-dore as I have moved on to purchasing boxes of my favorites.

To Wheel's point, I'm not an everyday smoker (3-5 per week, weather permitting). I like searching for the "deal" on my favorites, occasionally shopping for a 5'er of something new, and admiring the collection.

As your tastes and preferences become defined, look for those cigars you can age. There will be a noticable difference. Oh, and get a larger humidor. Well, decide on the size of the humidor and get one two sizes bigger!

I average 1,300 to 1,500 at any one time.

You really need to fix the poll, though. Should have a couple more catagories:

5,000 to 10,000
over 10,000

The later for FGM and rfenst, lol.

Yep, I'd like to know what some of the old timer heavy hitters have around. I have around 700 now and have really slowed on purchases lately, but I know there are huge stashes out there.........crazy bass turds.

Only been smoking since Feb '09. Probably hit 1,000 in my first year. Silly noob, thought that a 120 count was larger then I'd ever need. I now use that one for my super premiums.

Seems to be my problem, minus the money portion. I still like trying new things and half the time forget older ones I have liked so don't purchase large amounts too often. Trying to narrow down the field though to stock up.

Not as silly as me... I thought back in December when my dad-in-law got me a 75 count display humidor, that it would take me a year to fill it...

I actually have it holding a whole lot more than 75, and added a 50 count last month and am now spilling over in that one...

Crazy how perspective changes when you discover cigarbid...

Better go buy a couple tubs... won't be long now until you need them.

My wife and I just had the coolerdor discussion... She's not thrilled with me spending money and space on big coolers because we're getting ready to move into our first new house, but... she also understands it's cheaper than buying a new desktop humidor with every cigarbid order... first I need to gather some cedar...

Simple. Open the below link, call her over to the computer and say "Honey, I can't decide whether I should order this, or go to Walmart for a cooler. What do you think?"

As opposed to........................???????. Whistle

I haven't bought anything other than some Drew Estate for my last blind review panel. Trying to get some tubs cleared and just have my 400 count, 160 quart cooler, and the upright freezerdor. Since getting into brewing, spending money on that now.
