I've recently had:

My Antonia
Chateau Jiahu
namaste
60 and 90 minute IPA
Chicory Stout and
Aprihop

enjoyed them all, some more than others but they are all decent beer.
I would love to hear of some more I should try. I'm still trying to find the 120 minute IPA someday.

What say you all?

The 120 min can be had if you know someone in MD who will ship it to you.

Found a place while I was in HH last weekend that had Chicory Stout on tap. Ended up getting a 64oz growler from them for $14.

I wish. The name of the place was Growlers, I think, so the bottle is just brown glass that says "Growler" on it. One of those home brew bottles you can get.

This one is almost gone, wish I had picked up a few more.

Meh, I'm in the severe minority on this one. To my tastebuds it's more like "Does Dogfish Head Make A Good Beer"!

I'm soooo not impressed with them...at all.

I've had the 90 & 60 minutes and thought they were good. Im not a huge IPA guy but I like em now and then. I mostly drink Ales and Stouts/Porters.

I think there are better IPA certainly for the price (only available here in specialty store ).

Dan Ill check on the 120 for you may have it available.

Don't get me wrong Dan...I used to love some DFH. Just the other day I said their Indian Brown was one of the best, if not THE best brown I'd had. I was on a 90 minute kick for a good while there as well..

Here's my thing with DFH these days....which is as simple as I can get as to why I feel this way...

Their beers are too damn sweet.

I'm not a sweet beer guy. I'm not a super malty beer guy, which is a significant contributer to that sweetness. The 90 minute is MUCH too sweet for me now, and I found the DFH 120 to actually be pretty bad, bordering on terrible. Sure it's got 18% ABV, and it's "unique"...but the beer was so damn malted, that you couldn't taste any hops. Just malty, burnt caramel flavors and alcohol. I've got a lot of beer pkgs to send out here shortly, but I think I can spare a bottle for you to try. You may very well enjoy it. It's pretty much the 90 minute on steroids, only w/ even less hop flavor. The 60 minute is better than them both IMO, but I've got access to too many IPAs here locally that blow the 60 minute away.

So, there's my thoughts on DFH. Unique w/ all the different chit they try? Absolutely. Very creative..

For me personally though, just make a good beer without all the fancy fluff and i'm happy. And go easy on the malts just to add to the ABV. That's a waste IMO, and it just makes the beer too sweet.

Gonna agree with you right here. The 120 is just a freaking mess and an excercise in how much natural alcohol you can force into a brew.

BUT I do like most of DFH brews. Was very pleasantly surprised by the Chicory Stout, love the Midas Touch and Raison D'etre' in cold weather and the Palo Santo Maron is one of my favorite beers period.

Thanks for all of the input gentlemen. Kyle, if you can spare a 120 minute I'd love to try it and could prolly get you some Pliny or somethng else you may be lookin for. I guess I may be impressed with the things they try, but even the Apricot IPA isn't overly sweet to me.....like say a Pyramid Apricot ale. I've been fortunate to grow up with many microbreweries and had almost everything to come out of Colorado in the past 17 years, so maybe I am just getting excited about having more and more access to other states beer. Either way, I'm damn sure enjoying the journey. Drink on brothers, drink on.

Good man Chaz..

If he can't get you any Dan, I got ya covered...but it woulda been quite a bit before I could've gotten you a bottle. I'm pretty slow to ship these days and already behind as it is. Been doing more beer trades than anything lately, and packing those to ensure no breakage is a PITA! Nothing worse than a broken bottle of HTF brew though..so best to take the time when packing.

Chazbo, I got the DFH package yesterday and threw them in the fridge. Really been wanting to try the 120 minute for awhile. Last night I had the 120 minute and an Aprihop. The 120 minute is a crazy beer for sure.......not for me though. I like the whole 18% premise, but the taste is just too much(ageing this 5-10 yrs. might be just what it needs). The Aprihop is a damn good spring release imho, but too pricey. Looking forward to the Burton Baton and Saison Du Buff(didn't even know they did a collaboration). I really appreciate you sharing some of your beer with me, let me know what you'd like in return Chazbo. Cheers!

I've got access to just about everything DFH makes and have worked my way through several. Midas Touch was one I wanted to try just because of the history behind the recipe and it was .... interesting. Good in it's own way but not something I would drink regularly. I also like the 90 Min. IPA better than the 120. I think DFH is doing some really interesting stuff and I like most of what I've tried but probably wouldn't keep any of it on hand as I find the price-to-enjoyment ratio is a little out of whack.

Just got back from the local Tom Thumb and they had a couple of varieties of Dogfish Head.
I got a six pack of the Indian Brown Ale.

So far, tastes kinda like.... coffee.

Kinda reminds me of the time I went to Jorge's in Austin. They made their margaritas with EverClear! The first was was kinda harsh. The second one was kinda good. The next day when they woke me up out on the stairwell at the apartment.. I was like, what do you mean, I had a third one?!

Beer

Of course, this is way less severe than that was! But, just made me think back...

I'm gettin' sleepy.

No.

Neither does Victory Brewing Company

Victory is the best brewery in the world !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a big bottle of ''Dark Intrigue'' last night.

WOW. Pretty sure it's "Storm King'' stout that is aged in oak bourbon barrels.

For those of you close to Downingtown Pa., Victory Brewing is a must.

DFH World Wide Stout is very good but $40 for a four pack is outrageous. Had some chicory stout last night, very smooth.

Like others have said, 60 minute is about the only DFH I enjoy.
If you can get Pliney there is no comparison.

I like the brewery a good bit.
First time I had the Aprihop I said "Holy crap a fruit beer I like!"

120 too sweet for me
Raison D'etre is bleh.
Hated both Red and White and Black and Blue (not that like the styles anyway).
Immort ale was unique but I wasn't a huge fan.
I recently had the Imperial Pilsner (My Antonia) and was very impressed by it. Obviously in MS we don't get their beer but in FL and TX they get most.

DFH imperial brown holds a special place in my heart b/c it turned me on to the style and I have been trying and brewing them since... though with rye... I'm a rye whore.

I liked the My Antonia a lot as well, but to me it was really close to Pliny and I can get Pliny for 2 bones a bottle cheaper. Glad I tried it though. Didn't you send me an Orange Rye or something like that awhile back?

Not a fan of this one as well. But the 90 Min. is one great but expensive beer. It is very smooth for such a hoppy beer. Certainly not a session beer but great with cigars.
