What are some good box worthy cigars that age well. Nothing long term aging, I'd like to get a few boxes to put a couple years rest on.

I'm going to try to get a box of psd4s and mag 46s but was also thinking about what non CCs to toss in the cooler?

I like corona sizes for their short smoking time but am not biased towards other vitolas.

I smoked a my father Le bijou petit rott and it was not so good to me. Posted here and was advised to put a year on these.

I've got a box of genesis the projects resting in my humidor. I dont plan to burn one of these until I've had them a year. Sounds like a good plan but that's an entire drawer in my upright out of service for a year. That effectively makes my humidor smaller.

Suggestions of what sticks improve with age please? Herfing

MoW core line (especially the Toro) and Ruination. I'm smoking some 2+ year old MoW Toros that are fantastic
Jaime Garcias (that overpowering earthy/dirt flavor subsides, and more citrus/fruit type notes are noticed)
MoWPAs (but some people like them fresher.....pepper goes away quite a bit with rest)
Camacho Corojo Monarca - original (although the ones still available are probably ready to go at this point)
Several LFDs

Most of your pepper-forward cigars will improve with age
(edit:good) Maduros improve with age
Heavy ligero leaf cigars improve with age

I've not been into cigars for but a year now, so I can't really tell you many things from personal experience beyond the above.

Glad to hear you have a box of Genesis aging. They do well with at least 6 months rest. Beyond that, I haven't experienced. Probably my number one cheap cigar, don't know why it's so cheap.

I have to agree with the Padron x000. They usually age well.

Coolidors are pretty cheap. You could replace your aging coolidor with a newer, bigger one.

Ya I wondered who'd catch that.

Aging coolerdor as the sticks are gonna be in there for awhile not aging like it needs to use a walker.

Planning to use beads.

Good suggestions! Thank you all and keep em coming.

I plan on doing that too. I've got a few that I want to grab a box of just to see what happens.

Very good suggestion IMHO! Excalibur maddies age very well also.

You can't go wrong with any of the Hemingway maddies as well as any Anejo.........

CC's

I don't recommend buying NC's specifically to age.

If you buy NC's that are 'close' for you, but perhaps a touch harsh or edgy, then, by all means, put them in your 'aging coolidor'. They may come around and be decent after a while.

I have found some NC's that benefit from age. However, it isn't worth it to me to buy them specifically to put away. Not worth the time, effort or space.

If you feel you need to do this anyway....off the top of my head, there's a few that stuck out as getting better with age...mostly because I didn't like them enough when 'freshly bought':

Don Pepin Blue
Ramon Bueso Genesis
RP Edge - Corojo - its been many years since I bought any of these, but if they're still like they were 7 or 8 years ago, they smooth out nicely with a nap

Do yourself a favor and buy some Johnny-O's. Smoke a few fresh, stash the rest and give them a year to get through the inevitable sick period and you will be well rewarded.

Agree 100% because that is a heirloom unicorn I'm still looking for a full-size, rare "blunt" vitola I've found the more generic grape, cherry and peach specimens that also could use aging. Like forever.

Sarcasm

I'd say "cigars" too but notice folks are giving serious advice. What's wrong with you azzhats? Still think there is hope of being on Santa's Nice List in 2015?

One of the best smokes I ever had was a 2-year old AF Hemi Best Seller Maduro so I have a few stashed away to, hopefully, re-create that same experience.

Some get better with age, some don't. It would be nice to have a spreadsheet with aging info., but I just began noting when I got my more recent sticks. Without that, one just has to read what one can and ask about the sticks that have not been mentioned.

Some cigars age well. Some it doesn't do anything. Not all old cigars are good cigars. Some of it comes to personal preference, some to just what kind of cigar you have.

One thing to be aware of, aging a rocket is not likely to turn it into a prize. And aging a prize, may make it even better, or may take something away from it. I am not huge on aging, so I can't give specific advise.

Best advise is to figure out what you like and to smoke what you like.

Agreed as I experience more cigars I think possibly making a lil ledger etc would be smart if and when I get to that point..I personally have noted most of the naturals..de...that I do smoke I prefer short periods of rest ..as in cpl weeks to a few months...with my straight sticks the only ones I have smoked enough of to judge would be AF hemmingways and 858s in which case not sure I see any monster bonus tp aging though they still very tasty so I assume to each his own I think I just smoke till I almost run out....the rest I age....lol....thx for advice
