Received my order from Cigarbid Wednesday and one of my 5-ers had mold coming from under the cigar bands. I contacted customer service and hope they can remedy the situation in some way. Have any of you had this issue before with Cigarbid?

Thousands of cigars, no mold yet. Broken box once. They probably figured Robin could clean it off for you.

Yup, a 3er of CAO bottle rockets came in an extreme moldy bad shape. We had a back and forth about mold vs. plum but they sent me a shipping thingy, I didn't send it in though. I Couldn't get to the time before I lost what I was doing

Only problem I've had with CBID was my first order where my package got here and looked like it got ran over by a truck... was disappointing.

CBid took care of it though, I returned all my fubar'd sticks and they replaced them.

Other than that, it's been all smooth.

CI on the other hand (I'm convinced they use different shipping personnel), wrong items, missing items...

But they always make it right as well, so I can't complain too much.

As far as mold, haven't ran into that one yet.

I had mold on the foot of some graycliffs years ago. They tried the plume story, but replaced them when I insisted it was mold. Was easy over the phone.

Got a box of Joya de Nicaragua Dark Corojo Pesadillas, about 4-5 had some mold spots. Binned those and smoking up that box and keeping an eye on the rest. Only CBid box in 15 years that I've had mold issues ROTT.
I've also found that some dress boxes with lots of paper inside can get a musty smell long term aging them (not always), those I cut out the paper to take them down to the cedar.

No way they could have spotted them if the mold was under the cigar band. And, it could have developed after the cigar was banded by the manufacturer. I am sure that C-bid will replace them.

This I'm taking as a fluke, only box that I've had prof MANY from Cbid that had mold and I don't think it was CBid at fault so I just culled the sticks with mold blemishes. Got another box of JDNA Dark a Corojo at the same time, they're all perfectly fine. One box with an issue, definitely the exception.

Dealing with CBid and Ciagars Int'l especialy Customer Service, they will make anything right they possibly can, been patronizing both sine at least '98. Point and case, I won a box of Undercrowns and a substitution for 5 five packs was made since they went in back order. When I get a box, I want the box because that's how I store them.
After a few email exchanges, and even though I had smoked one, CBid CS sent a pre-paid UPS return label, sent me a sealed box, and it arrived before my return box got back to them. That was awesome!
Mold, damage, almost anything they can do to make any problems right just contact them and they'll take the ball.

I got 2 five packs of RyJ tubos once. One 5 pack was Churchill and the other was a robusto or corona or something. The shorter set was all moldy. The Churchills were fine. Contacted Customer Service and they sent a replacement 5 pack for the moldy cigars.

I still have the moldy cigars in their tubes in a zip lock back. Oughta throw them away, but just haven't done it yet. If somebody has another party with a fire pit out here.. maybe I will sacrifice them in that! ;-)

Sadly for me, a bundle of RPs were delivered to me Saturday. Sunday I took the first one out of it's plastic and discovered several green mold spots.

I haven't checked the rest of the sticks and don't intend to. If the first one was moldy that's enough for me to reject the entire bundle.

I've spent a few thousand dollars with Cbid so I'm sure they will take care of this for me. I've really not had much reason to contact customer service and the few times I have, they were great to deal with.

I see from your forum account that you don't have platinum status yet. I'm surprised at a few thousand dollars spent. You should call cust service 1-800-830-4590 to get your account upgraded when you get the moldy sticks taken care of.

Green spots isn't necessarily mold, most likely water spots. If you can't scrape it off, it's just water spots. If the whole batch of cigars is covered in it, and it just looks nasty, then maybe return... but if it's just a spot or two here and there, then smoke away buddy.

What did you expect from bundles of RP?

As you can see from the forum account and my posts, that I don't know what I am talking about, there is no such thing as a platinum status. If I keep talking about it, I might go on a time out because the nice ladies at customer service will start to get calls about the membership that doesn't exist. Hmm, do I want to go on a two day time out? hmmmmm .

Point taken

Sure looks like mold to me. I've seen water spots but they weren't green.

I just smoked a kooban yesterday with about 3 or 4 green spots on it, smoked like a champ.

My guess is not mold.

You could be right. There is one (the first one I opened) with greenish/blue spots. I'm thinking that one does have some mold on it. I can rub it off and it leaves a stain. The others do have some black blemishes but those don't bother me.

CBid was really good in responding and sending a return label. However, I may keep them. There is the one with green spots and another that is cracked. I'll try one tonight. So if you never hear from me again just know I went out for a good cause. :D

As far as Cbid customer support. TOP NOTCH!
