Every now and then I go to the Mothership and look for cigars that I have never heard of and try them. I saw one called La Tabaquera Robusto and decided to take a chance on it and paid $31.00 for a bundle of 25. Immediately after I was sure that I had purchased a certified dog rocket when I observed (after I had pushed the "Buy" button) the descriptive phrase, "Cuban Sandwich." This is usually described as a combination of long and short cut tobacco. And usually, they taste suspicially like floor sweepings. How good could a cigar be that cost only a little over a buck a stick? I found out that, in this case at least, the answer was damned good. When it arrived, the bundle's wrapper gave you all the information such as 1) who rolled it (his/her name) 2) who inspected it (again; by name) 3) the type of tobacco used (including their country of origin) as well as to which part of the cigar contained it (wrapper, binder, filler) and 4) the date it was rolled. I'm thinking, "This is either BS or this company really takes some pride in its product." A few puffs convinced me that the latter was the truth of the matter. After a clean cut on the head, a nice pre-smoke aroma, good taste and a nice burn and I was really enjoying this baby. No, it will never replace a Padron or Fuente but it will serve me as a nice in-between cigar that I will enjoy smoking and will not break the bank. I hope that c-bid picks this one up.

They have been on CBID for about a half year and I think there are a couple of them on CBID right now. I've never closely examined the bundle wrapper, but I do have a couple more in a coolador. Of the four varieties of this brand I've tried, only one qualifies for an additional buy. The only one I liked still only made it to yard gar status.

Yeah, I was just going to mention this. The cardinal rule...don't post your best deals on here...everyone will start jumping on it and then poof, there goes your deal.

I used tp tell my friends about the delicious dozen. I used to get them all the time for $25. I can't get them any more. It seems the going price is now $38. Still not a bad deal, but not like it used to be.

Guests seem to peruse the "what cigar did you smoke today" topic rather heavily and I've noticed prices going higher for the dog rockets I often smoke and mention there.

I could be wrong (I often am) but I always thought that the object of a cigar forum was to share the wealth; not hog it for yourself. ram27bat
