I liked these when they first came out. I'm halfway through a toro 10 pack I bought recently and they're total crap. They contain about half the tobacco they should. They last about 35 minutes, where I usually take about an hour to smoke through a 6x50 to the nub. Probably a godsend because these dog rockets start harsh and stay there the whole way. Loose, loose, draw. Like sucking on a straw. So soft the entire length that they can be easily pressed flat. Burn in runs on one side because the roll is off kilter. These suck now at any price, but for the typical $37.50 price for a 10 pack, they are unconscionably bad.

Don Pepin should be ashamed to have his name associated with these dog rockets. Never again.

Makes me wonder if it's a conscious strategy by some of these brands to initially make a good quality product to suck people in, and then degrade the quality knowing some people will continue to buy it another couple of times based on initial reputation and thinking maybe they just got a bad batch before they finally write it off.

Just bought a 10 pack of AB Prensado's for $3.50 per and 10 pack of LeBijou 1922's at under $5. No more CI exclusive versions of name brand stuff that doesn't remotely live up to the name they're cashing in on.

I think they try swinging for a hit, and if there isn't big demand move on and sell the name off.

I've heard that a company can discontinue their blends then sell the name and bands to other companies to produce for cheap with short filler and crap. I don't know if it's totally true but that could be the issue.

Well I saw a video of someone dissecting a Blancos cigar that bought with some kind of deal somewhere and they were all floor sweepings.

I was going to stock up on these (the DPG's), but I don't like the sound of things. I haven't been disappointed in a Don Peppin yet, but I guess it's coming - got 20 Legado's to burn.

I thought they were "alright", but no where near as good as the blue and blacks. I think they are a CI exclusive.

They're not on the myfather website with the other pepins which is why I thought it was an exclusive

Not short filler in these. Long leaves just badly rolled, spongy, and taste more like a Victor Sinclair POS than a Pepin.

Hopefully this post will not get me in trouble, but Cheap Humidors carries them- so unless that's another CI subsidiary, they are not an exclusive.
