In its Classic and Sigature line extensions, besides Maduro and Natural, there are Sun Grown, Rosado Sun Grown, and possibly Candela.

While the box of Sun Grown does not have any marking to indicate it is Sun Grown, the box of Rosado Sun Grown does say "Rosado Sun Grown" on it.

And, the Rosado Sun Grown cigar has a red silk sash foot band, but the Sun Grown cigar does not have anything to distinguish itself from its Natural sibling.

This is just my observation from the internet, perhaps there is marking on the Sun Grown that I don't know about since I have not see one in person yet. I do have a box coming in, hence my interest on the subject.

That said, can you share your experience with both Sun Grown and Rosado Sun Grown?

Thanks in advance.

Rosados are few and far between, not always released.

And the sungrowns DO have a small rectangular sticker on the box that says "sungrown".

Sungrown have a black band and a black cloth band. I found a guide on Google that was posted here years ago but can't find it now.

Never seen or heard of a candela Hemi. While the Rosie does have a red footband the SG version does not have any footband.

To my knowledge, Fuentes has not released any of either since about '11. Still have a box of each from that release.

Kipp, I had a few with me at RMCF and would have given to you iff'n I knew you were looking. BTW, I like the Hemi versions of both as much and maybe more than the 858 versions.

If they ever did try to to create one, I'd spring for a Candela version of the Hemi assuming they put as much attention to the blend as Dion seems to have done with the HL Candela.

I have no doubt that both of you are correct about the Candela. I thought I read somethhing about it and that's the reason I threw it in here. I've also check a couple of "Fuente-friendly" sites including the hoes in Philly and the honey bun in tampa, they only list Maduro, Natural, and Sun Grown.

My box of Classic Sun Grown arrived yesterday. To my surprise, there is no rectangular sticker on the box, I didn't feel good about it and was thinking "should I open it or should I call the vendor now?"

Pop open the box, there is no humi pack inside like other Fuente products I've recived. Now I am more confused.

Push the ribbon that wrap around the cigars up to reveal the cigar band, there is hope as the band is different than the Natural.

Prior to open the box, I grabbed a Classic Maduro and a Classic Natural just in case for comparison purpose.

The band on the Classic Sun Grown is bigger and has more gold color at the bottom of the band than the Classic Natural where it has a black line at the bottom of the band, the same band as the Classic Maduro.

To remove any doubt, I lit and smoked one, we are good.

I am confused about the bands because of different sizes and colors so I went back to check them.

It looks like the band was changed. I have a Signature Maduro from 2006 and Classic Maduro from 2009 that has a smaller band with the black line at the bottom of the band. A Classic Maduro from 2014 has a bigger band with the gold color at the bottom of the band, and the newly arrived Classic Sun Grown has the same band as the 2014 Classic Maduro.

Don't worry about the lack of a humi-pack. They stopped putting them in the boxes a few years ago. Rumor was that they had a bunch leak in transit, but it could simply have been a cost saving measure.

I do recall once seeing a photo of a candella Hemingway, but it was one of those cigars that they only rolled a few of for some special occasion or event. Probably only a handful (literally) of them in existence. Moki's website would probably have a photo.

OR seemed to age well. The newer ones I have aged and mellowed so much I gifted them all out. Was like smoking air or dust at one point. The last box I had was like a few years old. Maybe 3 or 4.

The Hemingway rosados that I have (looking at one right now) have the green trim on the band, a cedar sleeve and a maroon cloth band on the foot end of the cedar sleeve. I think they are from around 2011.

I bought a couple boxes of the SG release around 2011 or so and they did have a "Sungrown" sticker on the side similar to the "Maduro" ones.

Grumpie is the Hemi lover, I hunt them to keep her happy. Love

Well not planning on buying and storing anymore. I buy, I smoke. If I find some hiding in a humi, I now know where to send. :-)
