Was wondering what the general consensus was with the "real" cigar smokers not what the rags say. IMy local BM has them in his discount humi but wanted to know if they are worth picking any up. I was going to get one but opted for the baitfsh, and faustos and a couple other tats.

what say you?

I didn't care for it but I didn't make it far into the cigar before I gave up. The other two guys stuck with it and said that at about the 1/2 point it turned delightful. Worth a try on the cheap. I wish I would have stuck with it longer.

Depending on the discount what do you have to lose?

I've enjoyed them, just not overwhelmed.

Somewhere I might have even posted my thoughts as a noob on this one. . .

I've always thought they were more than a gimmick. There's a decent cigar there too. Especially at a discount, give them a try.

Not that you have to do it with this one. But I do suggest trying to review (or just take tasting notes) while you are smoking a new cigar. Its always interesting the things you pick up or notice because you are looking for them. Plus helps identify the characteristics of I liked this, or I didn't like that. My experience is there are a few cigars that are top notch and nothing to dislike at all, but there are a whole bunch that are overall good, but you have some critique on. I find it helpful to be able to refer back to some notes, to help me try and decide what might be good in a new one.

I found the rolling technique made for a great conical shaped burn. Slightly tight draw (just right to me). So so flavor the first half then some spice but nothing outstanding. These were priced higher than the taste deserved, but the rolling technique raises the labor cost.

*shrug*

Hope you enjoy them, I thought they were decent.

IIRC it was Robert who first posted and sent some of these around, there was one particular vitola that stood out from the others but I'll be damned if I remember which one. Hope you enjoyed the one you tried Roger!!

The Entubar line has been discontinued, so if you like them and can find any remaining stock, grab them. It's odd that a few places that have them do not discount them much from msrp.
My SIL likes them, prolly due to the novel roll/band design, so I bought a box last month to split with him, his brother, and my son. The inspection slip in the box indicated 12/20/11: if that was the date they were boxed then the cigars were nearly four years old. They were good, not great, but not a good value for the price. Plenty of better cigars for about $8/stick. A little smoother than I remember from a couple of years ago, when I had one last. They tasted better than the CRV version

Actually I guess ask that time it's been in the humi since they went under was a help. To me it was mild. First 1/4 inch wasn't all that good but then it mellowed out very nicely. Not much a flavor change to me but a nice finish overall and consent burn and flavor all the way through. Better cigars for 6 bucks idk anymore with the way bidding and all is more. Well be smiling some more to see. With all the discount and few one brings it to about 4.50. I did enjoy it though.
