Most viewed auction as of right now Gurkha warpig.

Does anyone else look at this and chuckle. I guess it's a good thing because if everybody else is looking at this stuff and I don't see the stuff I look at on the most viewed list then maybe I'm gonna do OK on my bids.

I'll have to smoke one and post it so we can get the views and bidding even higher. Now if I can just find one.

It makes since to me that the "specials" auctions would be the most viewed, even if the cigars are dogrockets.

People are going to keep tabs on these long running auctions with lot quantities sometimes, in the hundreds.

A load of overbidders on this particular one. Lmao!

Found one and smoked it. It's the second one I've smoked and it's not a bad cigar. I almost enjoyed this one. Not a great deal of flavor, but a little- particularly at the beginning. This one had some rest and was smoked while mowing the lawn. No construction issues and a mild to possibly medium strength. Could be a better yard gar.

Box of 12 - 6x60 for over $40- no wonder you are chuckling Anthony. The one I smoked today was a torpedo.

Lucky for you that you never tried a Gurkha viper.

Or the Kristoff maduro sampler box. Bought two because good deal, ZERO cigars stayed lit, and the ones that did, just tunneled down the middle leaving wrapper/binder intact.

My Warpigs have burned just fine, but they have had quite a rest. The second try yesterday was much better than the first which was only about a month or so in the humidor. The 6x60 in the auction could be better or worse.

I've got the two varieties of Gurkha Vipers ready to go and I'll smoke them both one of these days. The older churchill was round with a lighter wrapper as I got it in 2012 or 2013, the newer one by a year or so is a bit darker and box pressed. I'm betting the older one is better and suspect the newer one is a licensed knock off.

You do know that when a cigar tunnels, it means the wrapper/binder is too moist, right? So even if you put it in a perfectly maintained humidor, the wrapper and binder are still too wet...unless you age them for a LONG, LONG time. My suggestion when something like that happens is to gently 'desk age' them, or 'table age' them. In other words, get them out of your humidor for a while until they dry up. THEN put them into the perfectly maintained humidor.

In some cases, even aging them 6 months in your humidor may not be enough if the moisture in the wrapper/binder is too high. They don't lose enough moisture when in an environment designed for them to not lose moisture. Make sense?

"Maybe." It can also mean a variety of other things, such as underfilling, poor roll, or poor choice by the master blender.

(When a cigar canoes, you don't attribute this to one side being wetter than the other, do you?)

JUst looking through some old records and noticed that that Warpig I smoked was almost 2 years old, so if you have them let them rest about that long.
