I received my first cc today as a gift from my fiance for my birthday. We were recently on vacation in the Caribbean and stopped at a tourist trap cigar shop to snoop around. Although it seemed like a very legitimate shop, the prices were very high (the shop was in the cruise port shopping area, so all shops products are guaranteed by the cruise line). My fiance decided she wanted to buy me a present, 20 minute later after me arguing the prices were to high and her arguing that she knew this is what I wanted, we compromised and she bought the most marked up cuban she could find. Brick wall Although I am grateful for the thought and the gift, the Cohiba singlo III tubo for $35 was a little ridiculous.

Anyway, I will enjoy it when the time comes. Stay smokey everyone!

I have a buddy who paid $40 for the same thing, so you aren't the only one paying those kind of prices.

Nice gift. Though, these are to be had for $17 a piece.

Cohibas are very good cigars, no doubt. I can never justify the ridiculous prices, though.

25 Robustos for $400, when other robustos go for a bit more than half that.

There's something about being on vacation and seeing something you can't get back home...you're okay with overspending.

And I say yes, she's a keeper.

Enjoy it in good health and in the spirit that it was given. They're great in the tubos. fog

Typical tourist markup. I've seen similar markup (2X) on Dominican cigars at tourist hotspots IN THE DR.

Cohiba pricing in general has become downright stupid high over the past 6 months or so. CoRo jumped about C-note since this time last year. Behike's range from almost $800-$1100 per 10 ct box. All apparently due to a shortage of certain leaf for their blends.

Last but not least, you have indeed found a keeper! A good woman is harder to find than a legit cc on the beaches of Cancun! Savor the cigar and your good fortune!!

Definitely a keeper, during our cruise we took a trip to Atlantis, behikes were going for $500 per cigar... obviously taking advantage of the "high rollers" at the casino as the cigar shop is smack dab in the middle of the casino floor. Frying pan

Atlantis is pretty run down and degraded after the hurricane. it was really sad to see and the whole place smelled like old, wet carpet. I'm hoping they are in the middle of rehabbing the resort, but from what I saw I would never pay money to go there.

That's a shame for sure. Had a great vacation there about 7-8 years ago. Was a very unique property. Hopefully it can be restored...
