Renting the lincoln bedroom is one thing, but at least it's not leathal. Selling seats on a Navy submarine is another matter. Now we find out that civilians were at the controls when a fishing boat was rammed and civilians killed. Is it coincidence that these civilians were Oil Industry VIPs who contributed big bucks to the GOP?

I think that you'll find that this rich civilian deal is not a new (or inherently Republican) thing. I think that both parties play the contribution game. I doubt that Bush would take money from China though. That was by far more dangerous to our country's welfare. Some might say "treasonous".

Leave the gun take the canoli! Whoops, wrong subject! The sub rides and flites in fighter jets has long been practiced by both parties. Why even Mrs Stiff as a Board(Tipper Gore) got to take part in a surfacing manuver on the same submarine(SSN Greenville)!

A buddy of mine worked at General Dynamics and got to go aboard a sub they designed and built. When questioned about "taking it for a spin" he innocently answered that only the "big spenders" could go out when it's not in port. That was about 5 years ago. Hmmmm, who was the president back then???? I am not claiming that this makes things OK, but going on a government vessel vs buying a slumber party has distinct political differences. Unfortunately, the sub did kill innocent lives and that must be addressed quickly.

I am not suggesting that Bush is the first President to use the taxpayers money/military personel & equipt to pander to political contributors. But I am saying that such a degradation of our nations military and service members is not right.

Well, it looks like you guys agree on at least one thing! If you have enough money you can do most any thing you want! You can ride subs, fly planes, drive tanks, HELL you can probably sleep with a politicians wife!!!
