it's a shame you weren't part of the era. the reports about brooklyn having a baseball team, albeit class a, has hit the major magazines and news wires. there was a mystic about the bums, like em or hate em. they lived in brooklyn and played in brooklyn. locals would see them in the same stores, restaurants, and have a beer with them in local pubs. most kids were surprised to find out they got paid to play ($25,000 a year). we thought they played for the glory of our home town. when we won our first world series in 1954, (we) it was the big dream come true and we beat the yankees. this new brooklyn team has sold over 80% of it's tickets for the season. as i said, baseball is back.

Oh, but I am a big fan of the history and tradition of the great game and I remember the Brookly Dodgers and the great rivalry between the NY Yankees, NY Giants and the Boys from Flatbush! I was only being a smart alec on the reply.....like when someone declares "I found Jesus!"...my answer, "I didn't know he was lost!", The great Yankee vs Dodger World Series battles are a part of the tradition and history of the great game. Astros fan here. Just went up to Milwaukee to watch em spank the Brewers a couple of times. Took the shiny new baby girl. She slept through the second game. I'll have to train her better.

Well when Biggio takes the first pitch out, it makes for a good game. We (Astros) got more hitters than we know what to do with. Biggio, Bagwell, Alou, Hidalgo, Berkman, even Darryl Ward. And you with Everett hurt got what, Ramirez? Hang tough, beat those Yankees. Red Sox and the Stros in the Series,,,,I'll take it.
