hey look at it this way, at least all other fans had half a season to think their team had a shot. (except the front running loser MET fans) See you all in October. Let's go Yanks

I have to agree with ya Wany! Go Yanks! What a great game yesterday! As the play by play guys were discussing during the game, the Yanks have the best farm system in baseball and they keep most of the players they develop... Jeter, Williams, Rivera etc...

I just lost all (well, most) of the respect that I had for Torre. Being a BoSox fan, I LOVE to HATE the Yankees. But Torre made it tough to hate them because of the CLASS he usually displays. His picks for the reserve all star players brings the Yanks tally up to 7 from his team. And he left many a deserving player off the roster. He even went so far as to admit to picking his own guys. Steinbrenner must have squeezed him by the wallet to put more players than the yanks have had since 1962 (or there abouts). Now it's easy to once again HATE the Yanks, and Torre along with them. Enjoy the top, because the Sox are half a game back after playing their last 7 against Toronto and Cleveland, not Tampa and Baltimore! And to think that we're this close and Nomar hasn't stepped onto the field... Goodnite.

You have to laugh at all the Yankee fans. Like tailgater I too am a BoSox fan. Born and bred in Mass. and also love to HATE THE YANKS! The fact that the Yanks beat up on Baltimore and Tampa doesn't prove that they're worthy of holding the #1 spot in the AL east. Once Nomar (correctly said should be "nomah") and Sir Pedro return, we'll no doubt go back on top. The Yanks don't have what it takes this year. The Sox are slumping a bit, but doesn't every great team? I'll leave it at that, see what comes of it.

The Yanks will buy whatever they need to try and win the pennant! It is not even fun to watch them display all their cash as they "compete" for the flag. Red Sox will be tough down strech with Nomar and other injured players coming back, so watch for Yanks to go after some good outfielders to replace that crew they have! Grumpy O'Neil is about over the hill and left field is a weak area for them, so let's see who they buy to fill those voids! I like Torre, but dislike Yankees. Charlie

2 1/2 games. You better hope and PRAY that Boston doesn't make the playoffs. The Yankees can NOT beat a healthy Boston lineup. Not this year. And you know it.

and another month later and the sox still suck, slipping ever so slowly out of the race. I get such enjoyment out of reading tailgator and fenway kid's posts on how the Yanks are this and that. I enjoyed watching the bronx bombers sweep the no sox in Boston this past weekend and watching Mussina just miss a perfect game. I wonder what Jimmy Williams is doing? See you next year boys.
