Do you guys and gals like me find it hard to not smoke one from the box as soon as it arrives before stowing the little gars' in the humidor? I find it gives me a platform to work from by tasting a cigar before it ages properly from it's begining stage. By this I can calibrate or determine how the aging process affects my taste and the benefits of staging the age process to give me a perfect smoke. I find that I can develop a mild smoke or a more harsh one by this process and where it developed from.

When I get a new box, I usually take three or four out for tasting and put the others away in the freezer to eliminate beetles.

I think the OP is just rationalizing. I'm all for smoking one rott to see what it's like, be it box or five pack. At least I used to until I got behind on the new smokes in storage. Now I tend to age accidentally.
