For bander & sunbuilder, a review I posted on another forum a few months ago:

--

The review you have all been waiting for (NOT).

The highly coveted White Owl Pineapple Tubos...

As I take this cigar out of it's exceptionally stylish yellow and black tubo, I can't help but immediately notice three things:

1) how flawless the wrapper is and how I would expect nothing less from tobacco-infused brown masking tape.

2) the prelight aroma - this cigar smells like one of the air "tropical scent" freshners you hang from the rearview mirror of your car.

3) that I'm only on my 2nd martini, I hope that will be enough to make it though this cigar.

http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/8701/1001422weg8.jpg

I've admired this cigar long enough, so now it's time to fire it up. No need to clip, it's already pre punched for your convenience, so after verifying that I have both the local poison control center number and 911 on speed dial, I apply fire to the foot.

The cigar lights up easily and I am soon greeted with volumes of putrid smoke.

I must say, the flavor sucks, the finish tastes like I'm chewing on an Advil tablet, the burning aroma is wretched but damn, for short filler, this cigar burns straight and sure can hold an ash!

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/1957/1001425wcf3.jpg

I'm now about 2" or 2-1/2" into this cigar and with my face burning from the chemicals in the smoke and my taste buds screaming for the pain to stop I'm starting to wonder if this is what it would feel like to have Muhammad Ali open up a can of whup-ass on my face. I drink some more of my martini to ease the pain...

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/5784/1001427wgt0.jpg

I'm trying for another few puffs here, but after about another 1/2" or so, this beating is just more than I can endure and my corner throws in the towel.

http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/9750/1001428wsl1.jpg

It took me about a 1/4 of a bottle of Listerine to get the flavor of that cigar out of my mouth.

Do I think this is a good cigar? Oh hell no.

Would I buy this cigar? Oh, hell yes, just so long as I don't have to smoke it and I'm only buying it to bomb someone with.

TG: What was the date/factory code on the box? I understand that anything newer than October 2008 needs a couple of weeks age on them.

Ooh! Ooh! Do the maduro version next!

BTW, the Advil people called and asked if I was your attorney. Did you get sued? Why did you give them my name and number?

Besides...I smoked an entire one of these, ya pansy. And I don't even HAVE any Listerine around.

Yes, but the Phillies Blunt Mango is indeed a rare treasure, as good as the Pineapple Owl and just as smelly er aromatic, I do like the tubes the Owls come in they are stylish and colorful (chuckle).....

I just sent a few of these treasures out in bombs/trades etc.

Charlie,

I'll have you know that the martini glass is made from real glass and it's the finest martini glass that they sell at the $1 stores.

Wanna trade that philies blunt mango? I can't find them out here.

I was asking about the peach blunt.
From what I hear it's a much better smoke than the pineapple.

#25 You'd like the Capt. Hawkeye Pierce recipe for a martini. Pour extra dry gin while glancing at a picture of the guy who invented vermouth. Or perhaps the Winston Churchill version...someone pours British gin in a glass while a bottle of vermouth is across the room, at least visible to the pourer.

I don't think it's fair to post a negative review unless you've smoked a fiver of them.

I've just read too many other reviews that have said things such as, "unlike anything else you'll ever smoke," "unbelievable," "an unforgettable smoking experience," etc.

You probably just got a bad one.

^ that's funny Scott!

And Pacman, yeah, I got a big weakness for high horsepower gin--never understood the need for polluting the stuff with anything other than the venerable green, pimento stuffed olive...
Really the last word to accompany a dozen small oysters (with maybe some really crunchy bread and saltless butter)...and perhaps a small piece of quick-grilled swordfish and sauteed button mushrooms and garlic....
Finished with some fresh grapes, apple, x-tra sharp cheddar and a vintage pineapple Owl!

Wow, That's what I call taking it for the team. You might try and dry box them for 7 or 8 years and maybe some chemicals will evaporate.

Dat chit was funny....

Just don't forget, Once the Association is together yall have to come up with a logo, draw it up with some crayons, send in a photo of it. Oh, and don't forget the "BOOM or Drops Mic" when yall post it.
