I've got a quick story to share: every night I leave the office between 8 and 9pm. I hop and my car and light up. I have a 45 minute ride home and it gives me an opportunity to unwind, smoke a cigar (sometimes 2 if it's been a seriously rough day,) and just chill out before I get home. Last night, I was only about 5 minutes from work and this jerk was driving about 10 mph below the speed limit. Now, I consider myself a patient driver as long as you go the speed limit. Below the speed limit is unacceptable. Regardless, I thought perhaps it was an elderly fellow, so I puffed away and enjoyed the slow ride. Then, this guy stops to take a right turn. He literally stopped his car and start turning at a ridiculously slow speed. Now, he was getting dangerous, so I honked at him. Well, this jerk stopped his car, put it park, and started getting out of his car with his arms flailing. I couldn't believe my eyes. I know I'm above that b/s so I just drove around the guy and kept on my merry way. In the rearview mirror, I could see the guy cussin' and fussin' as he get back into his truck. I can't even remember what I was smokin'. I was so disgusted, I just threw it out the window.
What is wrong with some people in this world that they can't take criticism and be honked. That is all it was - constructive criticism telling this guy that he was doing something wrong. And what can you do it about? What would any of you have done? Would you jump out of your car and start a fist fight? Should I have threatened him with my double-blade guillotine? Is this a situation where I need to consider a firearm for the protection of me and my family if for some reason a road rage whacko comes after us?
