Rick, like I said on the other post! I will take such a bet and I will make it fun, as I will bet you a Montecristo #2 (ISOM) against your choice of a ISOM, I say he will not win or one he will just back out of the race! Which is what I think will really happen! And you might set your liberal Lawnmower man straight on who started the betting offers! Thanks and friends though we seldom agree.........Charlie :):):)

I was wrong. But you're not 100% correct, either. The 2001 taxes (next years) are supposed to be at a lower percentage. The logistics of doing that for the immediate tax season are far too complicated for the IRS to handle. The "rebate" is indeed for next Aprils tax return, but nobody will have to pay it back if they pay no income tax next year, nor will anybody who paid no income tax for their 2000 return get any of the rebate even if they DO pay income tax in 2001. Therefore, it is indeed REALISTICALLY a rebate for last years return, but Bush had no way to do that since he assumed office after many have already paid their taxes. Call it what you like, but the technicalities do not override the actuality of the facts. It is Not a sham, as you claim, but rather a clever loophole to provide Bush with what he intended: IMMEDIATE tax relief. Either way, although no formal wager has been set I will live up to my end of the deal. Shoot me your address at [email protected] so I can send off some pre-rebate smokes.

the bet is he will win reelection. if he dies or disappears or quits there will not be a bet. if he doesn't run, he can't win or lose.

Rick, the wager is accepted on this end, and I really do not think he will be foolish enough to try and run again; however, if he does then the bet is on! If not no posts, no wager! Charlie :):):)
