I've been buying from CigarBid for about 6 months but I am new to the forum so I thought I'd introduce myself. I don't know about you guys, but I check the site several times a day, every day, and I'm hooked on buying cigars this way. I just added up my last three credit card bills and found that I'm averging close to $200 a month. I know I'm sick, but I gotta know. Anyone else in the same boat?

Nope.....I buy only what I can afford, usually. I may go without underwear at times and shoes but I seem to spring back. All kidding aside, be careful. I find myself wanting to bid when I see a good deal even on things I have stock piled and have. It takes some will power at times. At least your not a crack addict and steal from your family and neighbors to support your habit, I hope!

I have found that standing in an intersection with a bucket, and a crudely writen sign "will work for cigar money, please help, God bless" gives me enough money to support my quest for good smoke.

I recall a Steely Dan song that referenced the "Fez"...
For awhile, I was receiving about a box a week at my
front door, unfortunately, my wife is always at home to
receive my purchase. Now, I get a call from my company's shipping dept: "come get your UPS pkg."

I'm new to cigarbid but I hit fifteen to twenty different sites a week looking for sales. Plus I have a couple of regular retailers that supply me with my regular order of Hemingway short stories and signatures that I love so much. I'm probably dropping 2-3 hundred a month on cigars. I've been stocking a cabinet so a probably only smoke about half that much in a month and the rest are aging. But some months it's more. I travel frequently with my job and can't help but look up the cigar shops wherever I'm visiting. I usually end up buying a handful of different stuff to try. Sometimes the urge to buy more is very strong but I usually try to keep control of things.

You must pace yourself. Iv'e been here since this site
opened in 98. Bid only on items that you like or want to try. Do not try to win at all cost. Bid low. If you do not win the first time you may the next. This is an auction!

I like you guys/girls ? and enjoy the forum and this site.. I'm sure most of you have more $$$ than me to spend on cigars. I make a modest living and have a young child I raise by myself.. I'm new to this site
however I think most of the items are over-bidded...
If you guys have lots of $$$ just go and buy what you want at a non-auction site.. $10,$20, $90 bucks is nothing to you.. Oh jeez! now I'm the loser guy on
cigarbid forum... I'll leave if I'm not wanted...

I don't even look at my credit card statement anymore concerning cigar purchases. I mean, here I am with an overstuffed cabinet as it is, and this month alone I bought two boxes of La Luna's, a box of Dos Rios, a box of Puros Indios Toro, soon to buy 3 boxes of the 5 Vegas specials, and that was just on cigar bid! I also bought a box of Montesino's belicoso #2 from my local tobacconist. (I had to use the $10 gift certificate my wife gave me you know, and naturally I asked for another one on Father's day) So I have problems, big problems. Please, don't add it up the total price for me, I prefer ignorance here.

Hi Fez, My name is Mike and I too am a (sniff, snivel) CIGAR-a-HOLIC. I know I have a problem, I just had to purchase 2 new humidors to support my habit. and its not getting better, as witnessed by my pending delivery of a box of vintage cinco vegas. We will get through this Fez, just keep logging onto cigarbid. you'll either be cured or end up in the poor house, if you find yourself in the poor house, at least you'll have some fine smokes at a decent price to keep you company (not to mention myself). Back to the facts, bid wisely and bid what you can afford, don't freak about missing a smoking hot deal, there will be another next week. Keep it 70/70 ;^) THEPAPA

I agree with papa.I have been on Cigarbid for about a year and it has been my primary source for cigars.I have found that alot of times when items go up for bid, they will come up again in the future(exempting specials). If you lose a bid...so what, you'll probably get another shot and you may even prevent sticker shock when you get your credit card bill.

I use a debit card so I can only spend what is in the account. My daughter just graduated and I am trying to figure out a way to nicely get her to move out; so I can turn her room into a walk-in humidor. Am I obsessed or what? Another quick note: at least the Ashton VSG's have not yet reached the price of the Opus x.

That song was the inspiration for my user name. I picture myself sitting back in an overstuffed chair, wearing my smoking hat (TheFez) watching the clouds float away. It's good ta be da King.

I thought I was the only one with this problem. BCA (before cigarbid) I had two box humidors, each half full, that was 6 months ago, now, I have 4 box humidors, 3 cigar jars, a cigar savor acrylic humidor, and a big-ass acrylic display box/humidor (the big kind they use in a cigar shop), each are at or near full capacity with sticks. I don't smoke any more than I did before (usually 2-3 a week), so I now have enough to last me for the next 3 or 4 years, but that doesn't stop me from logging in here and spending more money (on sticks and humidors). I'll say 'I'm just gonna check the forum', yet I find myself bidding on 6 different things just today, when I planned on zero. God help us all...

God! This is funny stuff. I nearly laugh my head off, reading You guys threads is like watching my own image in a mirror. I've only been on this site for 3 months, and I have the same "problem" as You all. I have a big problem though! Because of the costs of shipping to Denmark, Europe, I can't bid on boxes (they usually are heavy). OK, the lighter ones then - I just won a 25 box of Cerdan by Davidoff Gemmas - but usually I'll have to go for 5-packs/Samplers which is more expencive in the long run. When I started I intented just to buy what I could occationally smoke, as well as my friends, and now I have a full 100 capasity Tupperdor, a Tooboxdor, 2 Traveldors and a couple of boxes. All full. I am waiting for my first real Humodor to arrive. I plan to convert an old fridge or freezer into long time storage. See ya. Hansen - [email protected]

Fez, after you've read all of these posted messages, you should realize that you're in good company.

I wonder if TheFez still wears his old one or has gotten new ones since 2000? Think

I'm pleased at the evidence that acquiring beyond capacity is a chronic illness across the board
