I was asked to leave Walmart today

I hate Walmart anyway but.....

I drank a little too much beer last night, not enough to be sloppy drunk but enough that the combo of beer and pepperoni and jalapeno pizza last night has made me a little rough around the edges today. I am a little grouchy but not too bad.

I had to get my daughter to swimming practice at 7AM. The pool is 20 minutes or so from my house. After dropping her off I needed something to do rather than drive home only to turn around and come right back. So I went to wally world.

I was listening to my MP3 (in hopes that no one would bother me and I wouldn't have to be nice to anyone) as I walked in and walked directly to the back of the store to grab a bottle of Sam's clear american key lime sparkling water. The fire down below needed releif.

I grabbed the bottle, priced at $.58 opened it and began drinking it while I wandered around. I looked at movies, cds, cases for my zune etc. Then I went to look at lawn stuff, sunscreen ....whatever... I was in my own little world.

Then I noticed I kept seeing the same person. In high school I worked at Target so I had a good idea what this person was. So I methodically went from various section of the floor to other sections at a pretty good clip. The dude kept following me. So I started going in circles until I walked up behind him as he was peering around an endcap looking at where I was a moment ago.

I tapped him on the shoulder and tried to hand him a dollar. He asked what I was doing and I said "since you feel the need to follow me around I figured you can carry this dollar for me until I get up front to pay for this $.58 drink, at least then you would be doing something useful"

He was pissed and refused the dollar. And this is what got me an invitation to leave the store.

"I realize 58 cents must be a couple hours pay for you since you are so crappy at your job that a hung over spaced out fugger like me can tell when you are watching him even while listening to music and not paying attention to anything. But I can assure you I have no intent on stealing anything, let alone a 58 cent bottle of this nasty ass ****. I think you are needed in H&B because I hear a 90 year old lady is about ready to steal some depends."

He asked me to leave. I paid for my drink and left without incident.

Sort of fun in a weird way.

Well, you have now confirmed for us that even Wal-Mart has some reasonable standards as to who it will do business with...

TDub, this is no laughing matter. I would be ashamed to admit this if it were me, and perhaps you have gone too far.

You can be one condescending pos when you're in the mood, can't you, TW? LOL!
Don't worry, many of us have done same only to regret it later. You should have ignored him & continued to drink/shop calmly after putting your pants back on.

i think you did nothing wrong at all. if they treat you like an ****, there is some leeway to 'retort'.

what was the douchebag doing following you? if it was to make sure you weren't going to steal the water you opened he was shirking his responsibilities by not accepting payment and returning to his duties.

just another person on a power trip.

its not everyday we have a mike douglass falling down moment.

Opening and consuming food item before paying can be considered petty theft here in Florida...

Perhaps he just doesn't like you? Is he in management?

One of my clients, who was not even a licensed opticion, made 72k/year about 10 years back, managing the eye glass department!

Tim's probably at a 6/12 now giving an Indian clerk a hard time for not having change for a hundred after buying a fruit squishy.

****'s on a busting balls pilgrimage.

Chief will brook no competition on this forum for the title of 'America's Most Least Desirable'. By being ejected from a podunk Wal-Mart, TDub has set the bar very high (or low, dependent on view) in this matter.
I admit to having difficulty divising a scheme to out-do him...perhaps I've become a 'has-been'...

South Carolina is the same way. The way the law reads, you can be charged with shoplifting by simply placing an item somewhere else in the store from where it actually belongs. So, if you're on the bread aisle and decide you don't want that 12-pack of Coke, and you set the Coke next to the hamburger buns, the law provides for a loss prevention officer to arrest you for shoplifting.

Will they do it? I highly doubt it. Unless you do something to piss them off. The LP's at our Walmart body slam people.... they don't f*ck around.

TW,

Thanks for further degrading the integrity and honesty of America.

When asked what is wrong with this country I will just point the inquirer to this topic, and point out that people still think it is not stealing to pick up something in a store and consume it before paying.

I actually don't think this **** is funny at all. It is embarassing, and reguardless of your stupid and whitless comeback to the security dude, you are a turd.

You are a thief if you think that it is OK. Period. No gray area.

Attitude clean-up, aisle 5!

Funny.

#25 That's a little messed up. I was at our local grocery store a few days ago. Saw that some idiot decided they didn't want a tube of Pillsbury rolls, and rather than walk the 30 feet back to the display with the rest, just dropped it in the freezer case, amidst the frozen veggie section. I thought about taking it out for the store's sake, but I was worried the tube might blow up.

#26 Hey! That's some pretty good stuff. Basically a rather dry lime-flavored soda that isn't very sweet. It's pretty good.

#28 Hey, when you unpucker that butthole, go look up the word "whitless". Then, when you can't find it, go look up the proper spelling, witless.

lol thanks guys. ahhh good times.

My favorite is DoubleD's response. tacky in a walmart LMAO thats rich. Like dude don't put that carpet in your trailer home, thats tacky.

That said I didn't and wouldn't steal ****. I did steal a box of tic tacs in 7th grade and remember it to this day.

And blood the indian at the 711 gave me my chutney flavored slurpee for free since they couldn't break a hunnert. Thats not stealing.

By the way when I am in Quicktrip getting a fountain drink I drink a little off the top then top it off again. ANd........ I frequently pu the straw in and start drinking it before paying for it.

I am a rebel I guess.

I also sort of stole a plastic squirrel lawn ornament in college. I don't remember doing it, but I found it in the back seat of my car and there is the matter of the pictures.

I returned it to the proper lawn the next morning and considered it more of a date than theft.

In Mizzou, is it legal to consume something before you pay for it? In Sconnie, you'd end up in the pokey.

personally, i can totally understand why the guy followed you around. a guy who starts drinking a drink he did not pay for may steal "other" things.

in texas, i believe it is not a crime until you have walked out of the store without paying for it.

as for the attitude, we have all had bad days and taken it out on people who did not deserve it. (that part should be regretted, i think).

my mom said when we 3 kids were all very young, she would open boxes of kleenex and other things while still in the store...but she could hardly be expected to make a run for it with 3 small children in tow. she always paid, of course. and it WAS Kansas, after all.
