When I first joined this group of hooligans years ago, I was buying any 5er I could get my hands on.....most were complete turds. Then TJ came along and introduced me to premiums and my bank account has dwindled ever since!

I bought a 10 pack of Torano Exodus for 20 bucks and they were nigh unsmokable, just piss poor, abysmal draw and clay like flavor. I ended up throwing away half of them.

Once upon a time bad Toranos were hard to find, I won’t touch new stuff.

Iirc, got them for something like $0.75 each. Clearly overpaid! d'oh!

Pure dog rockets.

Don’t remember exactly but think they were short fill. Sure didn’t hold much of an ash. Inconsistent burn and draw. Stale and musty taste. Smoked most of them while walking the dog but threw them away once we reached home.

Quote the Raven: Nevermore. Not talking

So you were the other guy that bought them. 55x43- not sure how I ended up with 100 of them. My notes say they were a yard gar and suffered from extreme draw problems like a short filler would.

I believe the description of the cigar was written by a Nobel Prize Literature winner. I mean, how / why else would people bid on them?

But I will say that given the price and the purpose, it served its purpose (…but I still wouldn’t buy them again…).

Vaccination card....I bought one thinking society would accept me more. When they found out mine was really Antonio Brown's I was vax shamed and my feelings were hurt beyond repair. I wish I never tried to fit in with the vaxers.

Holy resurrected threads, Batman!

10 yr old vintage box of (Cuban) Saint Luis Rey Regios. I thought I was getting a helluva deal at less than $10/stick, but quickly realized why there were so many boxes available. Tried to smoke the last one about 7 or 8 yrs after I got the box. Pure ammonia after the first inch.

I won a box of Padron 64s with a ridiculously low bid (around $160). Very underwhelming. I think I smoked maybe 7 or 8 from the box and gave the rest away.

The wedding ring and an over the top wedding/rehearsals, only for her to take 50% of my stuff 10 years later. Prolly my biggest regret on a monetary scale. Yet it spawned a couple great kids so on that end, I don't regret it.

Most recent regret is dropping $500+ to a retro fit my mountain bike and turn it into an E-bike . Tried to do it piecemeal and bought pieces and parts that should have worked well together but they didn't. I punted on that project for the time being. Refusing defeat, I bought a pre-packaged deal. It worked well enough to buy another as a Christmas present for my son (although a part was damaged on his bike during shipping so waiting for a replacement part).

If anyone is interested in a 26" electric front wheel, battery pack and other parts... I'm your huckleberry. I have the whole kit and other stuff of parts to get it running... just don't have time to troubleshoot it.

OK...it's another day and I have time for a short version of the story behind my wife buying two wedding rings.

My wife wanted me to have a nice wedding band and my only request was for a simple one made in white gold. She saw one she really liked, with three half carat diamonds side by side. It was thicker, wider and flashier than a typical wedding band. I think my wife liked it because it would be more visible...noticed from further away. I liked it too...wore it every day after we got married on June 21, of 1980.

But one day in December of 1987, before going to work, I took the ring off to wash my hands and put some lotion on my fingers, especially the ring finger. The design and construction of the ring had a hollowed out area underneath, where the settings were for the stones. This trapped moisture there and caused the skin underneath to get irritated and occasionally develop a rash. I had also put on a few pounds since our wedding day and my fingers had gotten thicker so this also contributed to the problem.

I took off the ring and set it on the ledge behind the kitchen sink while I washed and scrubbed. I was hurrying to get to work so I absentmindedly dried my hands and left without putting the ring back on. All day long I noticed that I had forgotten to put the ring back on. The ring left a shriveled and indented tan line that was noticeably pink compared to the tanned skin of the finger. And it was itchy from the rash...

When I got home after work, I immediately looked for the ring at the kitchen sink. The kitchen is the second room from the garage, beyond a laundry room and half bath. The ring wasn't where I remembered laying it down. Knowing better, I thought it might be in the bathroom upstairs. As I walked through the living room to go to the stairs, things didn't appear normal and the uneasy feeling grew. The shock of seeing my empty gun case on the floor near the entrance to the bedroom confirmed my worst fear; we had been burgled and the ring was stolen along with a bunch of other stuff.

So my wife bought a second wedding ring, different, simpler and smaller than the first.

I hope she doesn't regret the first one...

My house honestly needs a new roof. It's leaking, and with me being disabled with a below the poverty level income there's nothing I can do about it. So if you've got a spare 10-12 grand laying around I could give you the name of a roofing company then you'd be able to, "...give anyone anything I could to help them if they honestly needed."Pray

You bought some samplers back then, eh?

Ya didn’t think to call and ask for advice?!
Maybe let us know how you were doing?
And NOW, we find out you’ve been choking on horrible dog rockets?

Too bad!

I started smoking long before 2015, mate. Cigarbid didn't exist then. Nor did trolls like you.

Settle down Gangsta...
It’s an old “schtick” around here, and if Frankie is late to the party, myself, or Tony, or someone else will pinch hit for him.
Stick around a while and you’ll get it.

Hooked us a marlin boys!

Cigarbid was around a LOT earlier than 2015 and there's a whole gang that's been just waiting on you to stumble in.

Pssst...check that "join date"...yeah. Besides the site was up years before that too. Then the "Great Gonz Server Crash of 2000" hit. We all had to re-register. It was a bittersweet day.

It does amaze me how long some of you have been around here!
Any day 1 OGs still posting?

I regret buying too many cigars when all storage is full capacity with overflow now being spread around the room like a hoard.
It's a guilty feeling for sure.
What will people think!?
....
then the next day I buy more cigars because the ones I just got are too good not to have more in aging

May need an intervention

Yeah. Me too. I’ve lost one in the hoard somewhere. Fsg Just oddly wanted one because I’ve seen people talking about it in the whatcha smoking thread. I simply can’t find it.

I got over my phase of pretending to be an Aussie when I was a sophomore in high school.
To hold on to this illusion so late in your life is embarrassing.
It’s important to remember that there’s still help for you though…
