And still in 2009 we have people using "Idi Amin" and "African Dictator" to describe our President based on the color of his skin. But it's all over 170 years ago.

Fuzz,

Your white guilt must devour you. Dude, it's not your fault. Plus you can get a tan and a perm and be black if you want the full effect. Collagen lips, ass implants, the whole 9 yards.

Come on man, call upon your youthful acting years and stop living as a white man with race guilt. Become black, join the revolution.

Hockeydad,

Because country music fans loved all black people before Kane West opened his mouth.

We are all worse off now because of Kane West.

Beer at the whitehouse is the solution.

56. So are you saying the market wasn't headed that way before he got in. Selective memory, or is it the fact it didn't turn around the day he got in office. Clearly he took over in a period of extreme distress. I think he has presided over the quickest turn around in history also. In giving him credit for the downturn during his tenure, you must also give him credit for the turn around.

Yes.

Most people consider 9.7% unemployment to be the sure sign of a quick turnaround.

The reason the Stock Market has risen lately is not from private investors.

It's The Big Banks who are not LENDING money that have to put their cash somewhere.

Once the USA becomes more accustomed to euro-socialism, you'll realize that 7-10% unemployment is perfectly normal.

85.

drywall, I follow the market for a living so I'll try to go easy on you. First, as Obama took the lead in the polls the market sold off hard, and the day after he won we had the largest percentage decline the day after an election if I remember the stat correctly. The market continued to fall, more than 33% since election day before it bottomed. The market has basically come right back to where it was on election day so there's really nothing to brag about.

What has Obama done to boost the economy? The stimulus has been a bust, with unemployment rates still rising to this day. So please tell us what policies of his are to be credited for is essence returning the market to where it was when the reality hit that he would be the next president? If it wasn't for all his proposed taxes, I would argue that the market would be a LOT higher than it is now.

Robert, many here have taken great pleasure in the market taking a dive since Obama was elected. Many also have claimed it would take years to come back. In fact the market took a greater fall during Bush's last year as president, then during Obama's presidency. Since you know the market, you know I'm right. We won't have do go over that. You give Obama the credit for it tanking, right? Then he get's the credit for it coming back. You also say that whatever he has done hasn't brought back the economy, really, you think it's a fair assesment after 8 months in office, most of the money from the stimulus bill hasn't even reached the economy yet. Will you may be right, we will know in years, not months. If it was your president in office, I would think you would give him a much longer lease, like the 8 years Bush was given to let us get to this point. Our financial and credit markets were at the point of collapse when he took office, or was this a hoax also. How long did it take for Reagan to turn around the economy when he was in office?

Like I said, the market is about where it was when he got elected, so what turnaround is there to speak of? Unemployment is going higher than he said it would if the stimulus was passed. Given that the stimulus is not producing the desired effect, why should we think that it will help as it continues to come forth? What policies of his show promise to boost the economy? Reagan and Bush CUT taxes which is why the economy improved like it did in those cases. What Obama policy promises to produce a similar effect I ask you? If anything, his hope to pass health care and tax the wealthy, and pass the cap and trade tax will HARM the economy. So please tell me why we should give him ANY credit for assisting the situation. Markets swing on their own, and you cannot point to anything Obama has done that has or will improve the economy. On the contrary it's clear that his policies will not help but will hurt the economy. I won't even go into the soaring deficits that we CAN attribute to him.

Wow Robert, you make this harder than it has to be, let's see the bottom in Obama's tenure was in March 2009 at 6626. It is now 9626 for a turnaround of exactly 3000 points. Any more questions?
