First one I have had that was totally plugged. I need to get one of those poker things, I nearly lost a damn toothpick in the cigar trying to get a clear path for air.

Best 30 bucks I ever spent. Herfing

How do you use it? I usually wait for the cigar to soften some before drilling. If I drill it out based on the cold draw, like they tell you in the video, I find that I often trade in a plugged cigar for one with a tunnel that still doesn't draw well. Happens when I wait for the cigar to soften too, just not as much. I think my technique needs improving, not sure what to do.

I've always done it during my smoke. I'll usually get 1/4 or 1/2 inch into the smoke and I'll drill it out without ever loosing the cherry. Sometimes I'll have to do twice.

Appreciate the reminder, Clint. It's been on my "list" for a while, just need to pull the trigger. Every katman review has a plug for these...

Weird thing about that Pledge Prequel was the cold draw was fine, but when it heated up, it was tighter than my thighs on a Z camping trip. I poked it with a toothpick (much like Z I hear), and it opened up for a few draws, then tightened back up. The plug must have been heat related.

Moisture sometimes swells the plug up. Almost like rehydrating dry beans. Then it stops drawing. You’ll love that thang. I hate having to use it but they work

Yeah I agree. I've also been getting better overall smoking experience since I moved to 65% boveda's vs 69%. I know a lot of others on here stores at 65% as well.

I smoked my one and only one earlier this year (...gifted by the Krazy Killah Korean 8 years ago...) and my notes said "Not bad, a bit stronger than medium". Guess I should have tried it sooner. d'oh!

@palama I can’t explain flavor notes but that one for me specifically has like a bread /yeasty unique flavor I’ve never found in other cigars. I find them to be very good. I’d say a bit stronger than medium would be about right. I’ll burn one sometime soon to see ifn I still specifically pick that out

^What happened to them? Did they stop making them? Or is it just a Cbid thing? Sometimes Cbid runs out of stuff, and maybe are waiting on the next run, and will get them back in a few months.
