Usually like a more full bodied cigar but on occasion enjoy an Oliva or Macanudo. I thought the new La Gran LLAVE by AJ Fernandez would be an interesting compromise. What a disappointment. I lit one up on the first hole and it was loosely wrapped and burned quickly. It was done by the end of my second hole. It also had a very harsh taste IMO. I decided to give it another try on the back nine and this one was a slow burner but the draw was poor and it still had a harsh taste. I gave my buddy one and noticed he didn't even finish it.

What, no benefit for Rwinda who has no idea that AJ's stuff needs a good rest before being pleasantly smokeable ? Maybe not, and I wonder how many shots for those 2 holes.

Tony, thanks for feedback, How long does it typically take for AJ's cigars to mellow. I've had some of his cigars before and found them to be pretty good right away (San Lotano come to mind). The La Gran have been stored in my humidor for just a couple weeks. 9 strokes on the first two holes, 1 par and a 3 putt bogey.

I should have picked you for the Masters Contest instead of Keegan Bradley.

Do a search, our Pudding Mittens says the longer the better. Think months instead of weeks. My last try of one at a month or so told me to forget about it for a while. Puddin' thinks in years.

Not digging this as much as the other HVCs I’ve tried. Maybe needed more rest.

Edit: much better in the 3/3 so additional rest woulda helped.

Camacho American Barrel Aged. Really a good complex strong smoke that - unlike some other Camachos - has remained as good as the OR. So far anyway....

The last of many. As mentioned before, they seem to be close to the end of their lifespan (for my palate, at least), some 7 years on

53046-Jaime Garcia Rob with a 4 year nap on it.......still packs some power with robust flavors.
Earthy, bitter chocolate, roasted coffee beans with some pepper. Expecting some sweeter notes in the second half.........smoked a lot of these over the years........been a staple for me for many years.
