I can't believe what I've been seeing more and more lately! A pack of wolves devouring one of their own. I am so very tired of the name calling and the bickering. When I view the postings I sometimes feel like I’m back in grade school with the bullies beating up the new kids or the kids that don’t belong to the ‘in’ crowd. We're not the FOGs and the FNGs, we're all lovers of the leaf!

It starts with slamming people new to our forum asking simple questions to ‘test the water.’ Is this a place they want to be, where a simple question leads to their humiliation? Would each of you have stayed if the pack had savaged you like I see happening on this forum?

It continues with bickering and name calling over politics. This is just what the politicians want. We attack each other and pay no attention to them. Sleight of hand better than any magician!

It ends with nasty, vicious comments because others make posts that don’t look like your post. Good Heavens!! It may be tough to read, but do we really need to continually bring it up and beat up the guys who do it? Goes back to picking on the kid who didn’t dress ‘cool,’ doesn’t it?

I believe we should respond to each other just as we would if they were sitting next to us at a big friggin herf! After all, we’re here for the love of the leaf, aren’t we? Each one of you is kind and giving and helpful so lets stop the fighting and get back to the real reason we’re here!

Still pertinent I'd say. d'oh!

Still pertinent... but you'd be amazed at how things have mellowed here.

There were a couple core groups back in the 2005-2010 cbid time that always would agree with each other and dogpile on anyone who didn't...

This is why I don't open the politics threads at all. I would have already quit this place.

Yep. Pretty much my policy as well.

My inner geek wants to tell you how wrong you are, and that the best number is 42...

My inner teen wants to snicker and tell you it's 69....

My inner nihilist wants to disagree with both and go with 4....

.... so I'm just gonna let you run with 7.

Let's not get started on your inner teen, because I have one of those too... But this is a forum (cough)

Not sure if I have an inner geek, and definitely not apart of nilhilism.

So yeah, let me run with 7.

Everyone should have been required to read Douglas Adams in their youth to feed their inner geek....

but that's fine.... you can stick with lucky number 7. :)

Yeah, we'd occasionally have a bit of Lord of the Flies thing going on here years back. One of the main reasons I took a long break from these boards. I see the occasional obvious trolling here and there nowadays, and some posts that just leave me scratching my head, but this is pretty tame. I think creating the political discussion board a few years back probably helped.

357 is the best number Shows you are a person of the highest caliber.

what a movie... to be fair I'm not technically using nihilism properly... but I couldn't think of a better one for the number 4....

Breath of fresh air to know there's people on here that have a clue about something that matters. Studied nilihism but not into the culture of it. But, fascinating, to say the least at what goes through one's mind being a nihilist...

God, where's Celtic when I need someone to weigh in on this??

(This is where most of the others will go pull out their dictionaries.)

#114, 115 being a little too literal, and yet not literal enough. I did not say largest. Fer cryin' out loud, I have a .44. It was wordplay, not firearms history, I made the joke despite knowing someone would inevitably go there. Thanks for not disappointing me.

Not sure why this thread was brought back from the dead, but I do it wasn't my fault.

If it was pulled up last year... I might have been able to take credit for it, but not this time!

Yeah, and if you tease him a little bit, he’ll throw a tantrum and run to his safe space.
