So we always go visit the folks in Chicago for X-mas....Fiance came home today and was telling me about all sorts of issues at the airport.

Something about new scanners that show you naked, and if you don't want to use the scanner you have to submit to a very intrusive pat-down and strip search (if requested).

Also something about a bunch of pilots threatening to strike over it, I don't know.....

If anyone knows if Midway airport in Chicago has these things let me know please...

It's just something that the liberals were protesting and foaming at the mouth about 4 years ago when it first came into the spotlight, but they lost the battle and the machines were made and sold with government grants to government contractors thereby producing huge profit for the lobbyists that got the damn things built.

Now suddenly Faux News sees the potential for profit in this story due to the rising costs of advertising, so they are rekindling the story for their dumbass audience. Suddenly it's a big deal again. The part about the huge profits for lobbyists isn't being talked about or pointed out though on Faux News.

I just don't see this as a measure that will prevent an attack by terrorists and it is def. an infringement on our rights. No flying isn't a right but any person who is not involved in a criminal activity should be protected by the bill of rights. Where is the probable cause for this invasion of privacy?

When the government owns all the corporations, strip searches will be common practice prior to most transactions.

The one part that you forgot in that little rant is an administration that is comprised of the most radical faction of liberals not only installed these devices, but defend their use.

And, as a bonus, want people molested who do not go through the scanners.

As for Fox News getting potential "profit", they already get better ratings then places you go to have someone tell you what to think. I don't see how reporting this gets them additional "profit."

Gotta a better solution ? These terrorist are making fools out of us and we are making fools out ourselves by trying to be so politically correct that rather than to offend the obvious we make the rest suffer. In the end the airlines will die. On a good note it will solve the oil shortages..

The amount we spent and things we go through because of the shoe bomber is ridiculous.

The amount we are spending and things we go through because of the underwear bomber is ridiculous.

Both of those attacks were stopped by a traditional security method known as an "azz kicking".

When the TSA in Detroit yanked open a 61 year old man's bladder-cancer survivor's urostomy and fouled him with his own urine, leaving him filthy and crying, I didn't complain - no one I know has an ostomy.

When the TSA in Charlotte make a flight attendant and breast cancer survivor display her prosthetic breast, I didn't complain - that can't happen to me.

When a pilot reported that a TSA screener in Denver said "heads up - here's a cutie" into his radio before sending his teenage daughter to the nude scanning machine, I didn't complain - no one would ever call me 'cutie'.

When a TSA screener in Boston was charged with statutory rape of a 14 year old this March, I didn't complain about the quality of background checks. Not even when a senior TSA staffer was accused of kidnapping a young woman at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and sexually assaulting her. That sort of thing doesn't happen to the kind of people I know.

When the TSA in Salt Lake City partially strip searched an autistic boy, I didn't complain - I don't deal with any autistics.

When the TSA took and questioned a Muslim man who was using the bathroom too often, I didn't complain - I'm not a Muslim and I never behave in some obtrusive way (and I have a cast-iron stomach).

When they wanted to look at and touch my most private parts, I didn't complain - I didn't want people to think I was a conservative, or a prude, or un-patriotic, or to "end up on some list".

When they reached in to my pants to take away my dignity, I didn't complain -- I had none left.

This guy said it all.
the way i see it is when you spread fear among people they will hand you their freedom with their own hands.

George Soros also profiting off controversial new TSA scanners
By: Mark Hemingway
Commentary Staff Writer
11/15/10 12:55 PM EST

Be sure and read Tim Carney’s Examiner column today on the politically-connected lobby for the controversial new TSA scanners that are upsetting airline employees and travelers everywhere. Carney notes that a company called Rapiscan got a $165 million contract for the new body image scanners four days after the underwear-bomber incident this past Christmas. Not surprisingly, Rapiscan is politically connected, observes Carney:

Rapiscan got the other naked-scanner contract from the TSA, worth $173 million. Rapiscan’s lobbyists include Susan Carr, a former senior legislative aide to Rep. David Price, D-N.C., chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee. When Defense Daily reported on Price’s appropriations bill last winter, the publication noted “Price likes the budget for its emphasis on filling gaps in aviation security, in particular the whole body imaging systems.”

Then this morning Carney also noted that former Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff was flacking for Rapiscan.

As for the company’s other political connections, it also appears that none other than George Soros, the billionaire funder of the country’s liberal political infrastructure, owns 11,300 shares of OSI Systems Inc., the company that owns Rapiscan. Not surprisingly, OSI’s stock has appreciated considerably over the course of the year. Soros certainly is a savvy investor.

Note that OSI Systems CEO is Deepak Chopra, but it appears to be a different Deepak Chopra than the more famous liberal new age guru.

The alternative is that we just accept that the war with radical islam will cause us to suffer some casualties in the form of civillian deaths. When the American public can stomach that, then the overzelousness of the government will end.

But this is America. We want the freedom to travel without any restrictions. People are still pissed they have to have a passport to go to Tijuana. We want all these freedoms but are too big of pussies to just let a few people "fall on the sword" so we can all be "be free".

Bunch of babies if you ask me.

I say let it be known to the terrorists that we just don't give a crap, and we are going to go back to the 70's when you could bring a pistol in your carry on. I bet the lines would be shorter at the airports.

Then, when the 5th or 6th aircraft is blown out of the sky the whole damn lot of you will be crying for full body scans.

Quit acting like babies and accept reality. Would you rather a piss bag or two get unhooked or 300 people at a time get blown up?

Man up. One way or the other.

If you are suprised by any political kickbacks you are an idiot.

Next step for tight security could be trains, boats, metro
By Jordy Yager - 11/23/10 02:09 PM ET

Editor's note: This story and its headline have been clarified to show that the Department of Homeland Security has not indicated it plans to use body scanners to tighten security at transportation sites beyond airports.

The next step in tightened security could be on U.S. public transportation, trains and boats.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says terrorists will continue to look for U.S. vulnerabilities, making tighter security standards necessary.

“[Terrorists] are going to continue to probe the system and try to find a way through,” Napolitano said in an interview that aired Monday night on "Charlie Rose."

“I think the tighter we get on aviation, we have to also be thinking now about going on to mass transit or to trains or maritime. So, what do we need to be doing to strengthen our protections there?”

Napolitano’s comments, made a day before one of the nation’s busiest travel days, come in the wake of a public outcry over newly implemented airport screening measures that have been criticized for being too invasive.

The secretary has defended the new screening methods, which include advanced imaging systems and pat-downs, as necessary to stopping terrorists. During the interview with Rose, Napolitano said her agency is now looking into ways to make other popular means of travel safer for passengers and commuters.

Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, introduced legislation this past September that would authorize testing of body scanners at some federal buildings.

Napolitano’s comments were in response to the question: “What will they [terrorists] be thinking in the future?” She gave no details about how soon the public could see changes in security or about what additional safety measures the DHS was entertaining.

The recently implemented airport screening methods have made John Pistole, who heads the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the focus of growing public ire.

On Monday, Pistole said he understood peoples’ privacy concerns and that the TSA would consider modifying its screening policies to make them “as minimally invasive as possible,” but he indicated the advanced-imaging body scans and pat-down methods would remain in place in the short term, including during the high-volume Thanksgiving period of travel.

Lawmakers from both parties have received hundreds of complaints about the new methods — some have likened the pat-downs to groping — and have called on Pistole to address the privacy concerns of their constituents, who were not informed about changes ahead of time.

Many lawmakers say the public should have been informed before the pat-downs and body-imaging techniques were put into practice. As a result, any move to implement new security screening measures for rail or water passengers is likely to be met with tough levels of scrutiny from lawmakers.

The next step is a new false flag operation like a lady terrorist who implanted explosive in her breasts to blow up a train or something so they can push for this new bull**** and Micheal chertoff's friends can get some new contracts.

If any flight that ends up in US airspace required the SAME SCREENING where ever that flight originated from then maybe let the screenings continue, MAYBE. But if that is not a requirement, which I doubt it is, then we are giving up basic freedoms for NO REASON.

My argument is that free TSA Happy Endings and body cavity searches (I'm sure MACS would enjoy) would have done nothing, nicht, nada to stop the previous two incidents where they tried to blow up a plane. Mainly because those terrorists got on a flight outside of the country...where they don't get groped.

However, that salient fact obviously hasn't bubbled up to the "top" of the current regime.

So, being the geniuses they are, they've "wisely" decided to put a second deadbolt on the front door for everyone's protection, and leave the back door wide-frickin'-open so that any idiot can wander in...

...but at least they won't get in the front door, by God!

2. When in doubt see rule #1

Why do we persist on groping fifth generation American octogenarian grannies and irradiating teenage Valley girls, when 99.995% of the 'man-caused disasters' are the result of one specific group?
