First one that comes to mind is the Tatuaje SW Maddie. Unfortunately there were only 50K ever made.

Just curious, but how many expensive cigars does a person have to smoke in a given day, week, month, etc....to be considered an elitist? I'm going out on a limb and assuming that most who smoke cigars are going to enjoy a better specimen when the opportunity presents itself but I'm guessing that the schlub who only smokes and enjoys an occasional expensive stick doesn't qualify as an elitist?

Many to choose from but the best in my humi would be a Perfecxion 1992 or a Cohiba Siglo IV

Never had one of the exclusive Padron Maddies.

So ANYTHING over $10? That's pretty wide open, lol. Sometimes I"m not great on true MSRP, though, since I always buy when on sale/auction.

My favorite cigar on earth right now is the Padron 45th Maduro. Just fantastic. But there are quite a few awesome cigars in the "expensive" categories.

Regular Production:
Padron '64 / '26 / 40th / 80th / 45th / 46th (haven't had the 85th yet)
Arturo Fuente Casa Fuente / Opus X / Forbidden X / Anejo / Don Carlos Anniversario / Hemingway Maduro
Tatuaje RC / Reserva J21 / Reserva SW / Avion
Illusione Epernay Le Mattin (I think these are $10)
Liga Privada #9 / T52 / Dirty Rat / L40 (haven't had the other upcoming ones yet)
Ashton VSG / ESG

There are a lot more but the baby's crying, lol.

The Elitist title is kinda like your nom de plume ....usually tossed around in jest. Having said that, there are some who will only smoke CC and a good friend of mine just smokes Padron Annis since those are what he likes best. A true elitist is someone like TJ who has every limited edition cigar ever made Whistle

Personally, I enjoy a wide variety of smokes as do the vast majority of the B/SOTL on these "boreds".

I would add:

AF BTL Applause

Tatueje, Fuente, Padrom, LP . . . yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess.

MY personal favorite in the ^$10 range right now is the La Sirena Trident.
For a few bucks less I'd go with the Coronado by LFD.

Two great smokes, IMHO.

jes

I did smoke a Partagas 160 once. That would rate right up there with the "best".

I would rate the Partagas 150 from several years ago that high. Smoked two and they were very memorable. I've had LP9's, Anejo's, Padron '26's and a few Opus X that I would say were worth the coin as a treat. Not having had any experience with the LE Tat's I have no idea how I'd compare those.

Kidding. I have no idea.

As to the question, I am torn:

Perdomo EdS maduro
Padron serie 1926 maduro
Tatuaje T110
Padron serie 1964 maduro

I love the Padron 45 Maduro as well. Right under $10 (depending where you go) the San Lotano Oval is about as good as it gets in that barely elitist price range.

I've never had the pleasure of smoking a cigar that cost over $10.00.

I don't have any elitist or platinum or any other kind of moniker, and prolly never will.

I'll just stick with the $19.95 bundle cigars. If that ain't good enuff, then so be it!!!

Best smoke for me right now (and it hovers right above $10) is the Liga Privada Dirty Rat.

Under $15 Padron 1964 Maddi Diplomatico.
Under $25 Padron 1926 No.2 and No.9 both in maduro and natural
If you go higher, you cannot go wrong with any of the family reservas.

I have to mention Perdomo EDS Nat. DC original release, if you can find them. Camacho liberty 2009 is a fantastic smoke as well, and can be found as low as $13

Definitely Ashton VSG, Liga Privada Dirty Rat, Opus X (little over rated though). I don't consider myself an elitist or an aficionado. I like to see myself more as an aprecionado

I've smoked one or two over 10 bucks.....and if i'm smoking something that ain't cuban these days, and at or around this price point...

it'll like be a Liga Privada T 52 Toro.

Yup, still a fan. Haven't had one fail me yet, and performs just as good IMO as any fancy Padrons that cost twice as much (or more). Although that PAM 45th is purdy good, but not 2 1/2 to 3 times an LP T 52 good....for me at least.
