It has been a while. At one point you could get 5 boxes of 5 for $35 when they were still available. Now that they are no longer available, you will pay more than that for one box of 5.

They were a nice smoke.

I can't remember too much about them other than I enjoyed smoking them.

It's an Oliva, what more do you need to know. I've smoked a few, and have one left although it's damaged. They are good enough that if I came across a box in a B&M I may be inclined to buy them all.

Actually, they are an Oliva, but they are not an Oliva. There are two completely different Oliva families. These cigars were made for (or by?) the Oliva family that grows tobacco, not the Oliva family that makes cigars.

The farming Olivas mainly grow and supply a HUGE amount of tobacco for many, many cigar manufacturers. The Angel 100 is the only cigar they have ever put out. It is to celebrate 100 years in the bidness or someones 100th B-Day, or something like that.

The cigar making Olivas are the ones most people are more familiar with. They are the ones that make the Serie O, Serie G, Serie V, etc. They have nothing to do with the Angel 100.

I knew that in the back of my mind, but the quality of the stick is on par with the cigar making family. I simply tied the name to the quality.

This is correct.

The cigars were made to celebrate Angel Oliva's (the founder of the company) 100th birthday. It's the only cigar that the Oliva tobacco family has ever released.

FWIW, to cut confusion, Jon Drew and a lot of the other manufacturers who buy leaf from them (which is just about everyone actually) pronounce the name as "O-liva" in spoken conversation and the Oliva cigar makers as "Olive-a".

I do not believe that there is any relationship between the families.

Not bad by today's pricing standards, used to be able to get them here for like $15-25 a 5-pack.

At this point, those cigars are 5+ years old now.

The last one I burned was about a year ago, they aged VERY well... I think I paid a whopping $2 and some change each... I had about 40 or so, this thread reminded me I should still have a box of 5 somewhere in humi, now I got to find them!

No relationship between families. Angel started Oliva Tobacco Company (OTC) supplier to companies such as Rocky Patel, Fuente and Ashton, not to be confused with Oliva Cigar Company.

Oh, and if you like very mild cigars, smoke em as they aren't that expensive. I smoked mine. LOL

Yeah, I had forgotten how cheap the price got when you bought the "boxes" which were no more than five 5 packs.

Ditto the above.

I got the 5 boxes (5 cigars/box) for $35 about 4 years ago. Still have some laying around. They were decent OTT (off-the-truck), but I think they may be even better with age.

Didn't care for them when I bought them. Held on to them until folks started looking for them and gave most away.

Did you want to try one Kombat? I may still have a couple left.

I believe the Garcia family buys from them as well, I saw some of their barns/ fincas as we were touring the countryside of Nicaragua

A few years ago, I bought lots of these. Used to get 5 packs for $12 - $15 , sometimes less. They were good enough that I just couldn't save 'em.

These were NOT made by Oliva. They were made by NATSA with tobaccos supplied by Oliva.

I still have a bunch of the 5 paks. Good smokes that have aged well.

As far as I know, the only cigar being made from 100% Oliva Grown Tobacco currently is The Latitude Zero. Very Tasty too.

very mild cigar IMO. real mild. You may not like em Kombat. I kindas know ur taste and not you. Not a lot of flavor. I remember pitching the last one I tried smoking about 4 or 5 years ago.

they definitely start out mild, but at the half way mark they start to evolve a bit more and definitely end with a nice kick... nothing spectacular but very enjoyable...
