Thanks. Never heard...not bad. Technically, very sound. A bit too loose and raw for me, but they have a lot of promise...I can hear Queensryche, Metallica, Perfect Circle...they need a singer and a producer....I'll be keeping an ear out

I liken them to an early version of Yes...not as good but trying. Yes, they need production help. I still enjoyed where it went.

ZZ Top - a comp CD made up of favorites from their first 6 albums (...heavy on Tres Hombres...).

Saw them only once when they opened for the Stones in '73. Great set, played for almost an hour, including their encore but man, were they hot!

79 F / 64% RH / 13 mph - hot and humid during the day, light showers tonight to cool things down

Last night on way home from work Sat Radio played The Moving Sidewalks "99th Floor"
The Moving Sidewalks featured Billy Gibbons on guitar......I had never heard that song before.....pretty good guitar

Again, thanks for this........I'm an EC fan and have listened to this many times, but never bothered to read the liner notes.......I didn't realize the band was known as the Palpitations, and what a lineup!
THE PALPITATIONS (13 January 1973)
Eric Clapton (guitar / vocals), Rebop Kwaku Baah (percussion), Jim Capaldi (drums), Rick Grech (bass), Jim Karstein (drums), Pete Townshend (guitar / vocals), Steve Winwood (keyboards / vocals), and Ron Wood (guitar)

Beer

Songs differ slightly between the 2 shows. After Midnight and Bell Bottom Blues performed only on the early show, Key to the Highway only on the late. The remastered expanded CD release includes all 3 songs. Clapton used Blackie on the first show then switched to George Harrison's "Lucy" for the second.

Love - Forever Changes

I consider myself something of a connoisseur of late '60's and '70's rock...but for some reason, this band is sort of a gap in my snobbery. I know (recognize) a number of their songs, of course. And, I've read about their profound influence on many of my favorite musicians. But their music has largely been missing for me....I'm fixing to correct that. This is great (and important?) stuff!!!

I like that. It's an important album for it's era. It's soooo overlooked, yet it's rewarding for the listener.

Likewise, I've never quite gotten the hoopla about this album. Maybe after a few more listens I'll catch on...

Billy Idol - Rebel Yell

On an episode of VH1 Storytellers, Idol explained that he got the idea for this song at an event he attended where Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Wood of The Rolling Stones were taking swigs from a "Rebel Yell" bottle of bourbon whiskey. This gave Idol the idea for the title and he wrote the song around it.

When my son was little, and still watching Sesame St., Billy Idol was the guest one day. He did a skit on the show where he sang about the "Little Rebel L". It was kinda funny watching him sing while they had a Muppet type L in a leather jacket running around being rebellious.

Chris Duarte used to live in Concord NH and play at quite a few of the local bars with a 3 pc band. Then he moved back to Texas and hit it big with Texas Sugar/Strat Magik.
He still stops in Concord when he's on tour, and stays at one of my buddies houses. ......we usually get together go see the show and catch up on his life on the road, drink some beers and reminisce on the past.
Last time I saw him he was doing ok,but in recovery from his bad habits, so no beer or bad habits for him Herfing

It's the SACD version, limited edition.
Bought it a couple years back. Not sure if it's still available? ..AWESOME, both the 2-channel AND the 5.1.
Most people poo poo the multichannel, but when it's done right, like this mastering, it's spectacular.
The 2 channel is also fabulous.
I've got it in vinyl too but can't remember which version? ..regardless, an outstanding collaboration!

*edit - you can still get this on SACD

Computers and servers and systems whirring and occasional beeping.... for about 3.5 more hours.

And then, after midnight, my 'Party on the Patio' channel on Pandora Radio down the Vets Hall.

I've brought along a Padron 1964 robusto somethingorother and a San Cristobal robusto.

Beer

Oh, and 84F, 78%, 13 mph, partly cloudy... currently.
