For those who would like to try the REAL LP Morado, the one that got the 93 rating, not the reblended, resurrected crap sticks CI has been selling under the same name for the past year, now is your chance. From what I can tell, these are the original 2007 release, complete with the rare Cameroon wrapper, cedar sleeve and cedar tray boxes. A real gem of a smoke, and a steal at $39 to $49 per box. Once you taste one of these, you'll understand why I'm so upset with the current production of dog rockets that have been passed off as these premium smokes. Of course I've already grabbed a supply. Get them while you can, boys and girls.

Seen those, wasn't sure if they just had a pic of the "real thing" or were actually selling them.

If they're not the "real deal", they're going back, and someone is going to get an earful.

Is any size better than another from what you recall?

^I personally have never had the Beli, but Surfish1961 and I both agree that the Toros are better then the Robs, though you can't go wrong with either one. YMMV. Also notice that the sizes are slightly different, further proof that these are not the same as the current CI offerings.

Here's another thing I noticed when I smoked an orginal Rob and CI's Rob side by side last year. Even though the original says 4.75" x 52, and CI lists their's as 5" x 52, the CI stick I had was a couple ring sizes smaller, more like a 5" x 50.

^I'll know by Tuesday, and as I said before, if they are not as advertised, they're going right back.

I bit on the Morado toro's. I'm not fond of the Morado's now offered, but, many rave about these. I'm looking forward to trying them.

In hind sight, maybe I should have kept my mouth shut, and the one's they didn't sell may have shown up here, where I I could have snagged them for even less. Me and my blabber mouth, lol.

My palete (and others I've spoken with) say they are as different as night and day, but if not to your liking, don't forget CI's return policy. You can smoke one, and if you don't care for it, you can return the rest for full credit. How can you lose?

Lol! I'm rather surprised these are still available considering the conversations about them over the years.

Yes Joker, you are. 60-70 for dog rockets, 39-49 for the real deal. Go figure. Madaxeman posted the correct link right below your post.

Madaxeman,
Thanks for the shipping link. I just ordered a box of Torps with it, so now I have at least one of every size coming.

I usually get one day shipping, so I'll check these out as soon as they arrive on Tuesday, and let you folks know if they're the real deal or not.

Thanks for the original post. I just went back and got Toros and Robustos. Got a box of each size coming.
Never had these but did buy a box of the crappy ones they sell now due to reviews of these originals. Looking forward to trying Angel

A word of caution. As I thought original production was long gone, I’ve been hoarding the few I had left, and haven’t had one in a while. When I saw the deal, I immediately lit up a Toro, to make sure I still enjoyed them before ordering and posting this thread. This morning I smoked one of my last two Robs, and really paid attention to the flavors. Following is a review, which in hind sight, I should have posted yesterday, as these may not be in everyone’s wheelhouse.

The cigar has a dark walnut, rare Cameroon wrapper grown in Africa, which lends a slight sweetness throughout the smoke. Filler and binder are Nicaraguan, so expect a hit of black pepper and hint of cayenne on the back of your throat, that slowly diminishes throughout the smoke. The main flavors are varying degrees of cedar, roasted almonds and just the hint of cashew. What I find enjoyable about these, and what you may or may not like, is a distinct, underlying note of dried fruits (apricot, raisin, etc.).

So, open the box when you get them, and give one a try, as per CI’s return policy, you only have 15 days from receiving your order to request a refund if they are not to your liking. I don’t want to hear folks crying to me a month or two from now that I steered them wrong on these.

FREE SHIPPING ? ? ?

Don't you have to add the mazo of La Estrela Cubana to get the free shipping?

Tried that . . . no luck.
I called CS and spoke to Chris.
She said that there was no way I could get free shipping other than adding something else to the order, or by ordering thru "Joe's Deal".

Do I need to put Sherlock Newell on this case ?

John,
Copy the entire link, open a new window, and paste the link. You should get to a CI page that has a blue banner near the top that says "Free Ground Shipping". Click on the Weekend Spotlight deal and place your order. During the checkout process, it will offer you a free shipping option on the shipping page. Select that and finish checking out.

If you can't get it to work, let me know what you want to order, and I'll get them for you.

Order was already placed (without free shipping) and CS @ C.I is not very cooperative.
Maybe I should just CANCEL the original order and then re-order thgru that other link.

It is really worth all that hassel for $4.95? Oh, wait a minute, that's usually what I pay for a 5ver, which equates to 5 hours of smoking pleasure, lol. When I think of it that way, go for it, HA!
