Bookers Blue Knights Batch

I was down on Bookers because of this bottle, after having good experience from same bottle of this batch before and finding it to be not so good when I first opened this bottle but for some reason I am liking this taste tonight. Maybe mood affects taste more than I realized?

That's what I feared,glad I didn't bite.

Chris bought the Pinhook bourbon...........but it may take a couple years to get a report the way he hoards bottles.

I sent him a text.........lets see if that gets the ball rolling

My lovely wife bought me a bottle it's first year of release.........it was damn good.I bought a bottle couple years later and had trouble choking it down.Saying it was young and rough around the edges is being kind.I expect more for $80 and that's one of the reasons I rarely drop that kind of coin on any bourbon.

Macallan 12. Still good, but I am reminded why I've been paying a little more for the Aberlour 16.

I need to try the Aberlour 18.

I don't hoard...I just take my time, plus when it comes to HTF shat my mantra is "1 is none and 2 is 1"

Pinhook was the 1st bottle opened upon return from LV.....It's good bourbon but I've had a lot better for $40

Tried to put down a pint of Blanton's last night during a get together and needless to say I got 3/4 of it gone and then had to throw in the towel. I think not eating well and being up since 0530 caught up with me.

Had a lowball of Knob Creek 120 proof SBR aged 14 years........smooth as hell I gotta get me another bottle of that especially since it was on $49

I liked it, thought it had a bit of sweet and heat to it but I wouldn't purchase a bottle for myself. Asked my BIL how much and he said it was $68 on the base when he was finishing up his last orders.

I have a bottle of this as well, was waiting to open it next when I finished one of my opens but kept getting good stuff I wanted to try right away instead. It will be next on the list though.

Finished off the pint of Blanton's tonight.

I forgot to mention it when I was in Vegas but the wife and I went to eat at the Chart House in the Golden Nugget one night and had an amazing dinner, but what impressed me more was a drink they had on the menu. The drink was called simply "Chocolate and Bourbon" made with Four Roses small batch, the bourbon and chocolate paired so well at the finish it was outstanding to me!

Here's the description in case anyone is interested

"Thanks to the artistic presentation of the drink photos, I wanted to try one more before writing this entry, so returned for a third visit to order a specialty cocktail named “Chocolate and Bourbon.” That just sounds decadent. Served with a ball of chocolate and maraschino cherry on a swizzle stick, this drink of Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon, Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth, Tiramisu Italian Liqueur, and Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters would be a perfect after meal drink in lieu of dessert, a special holiday drink, or a lovely night cap. I will have to try to recreate this at home for the latter purposes."
