I never found out what whiskey he drinks.
If it's scotch, then he's a hypocrite! Better be THE American whiskey...BOURBON.

Doc, this is called fun. You may be on the wrong site.

Good luck in the coming revolution. I'll buy ya a bourbon if we meet on the other side.

Whistle, I don't even know what had means, but it sounds like a plan. I'd say Drafter and Frank have guys, but I doubt you would need any help.

used to buy ETL all the time here for $24 years ago. Loved it at any price, but at that price it was special.
Mentioned it a few times on this thread, found out it was widely loved yet still under the radar.
Then Elmer died.
Yadda yadda yadda...can't buy it for any price within a million miles the last several years.

Called the distillery a few years ago to learn if any had been allotted within 50 miles of me. Nice lady, gave me several shpoes, one had a single bottle. They didn't know they had it, wasn't on the shelf, didn't come up on the manager's computer, and I spotted it behind the register.

Scanned it...$55!

I passed. It's good, real good, but not for that kind of money.

That's not bad Frank, saw a bottle this summer which was the 1 and only bottle in years for $80 at my local. FB has a market for them at $100 a bottle.

$25 Elmer is good, $35 it's ok $50 and up it's an easy pass imo

Elijah Craig Small Batch. A bunch of cinnamon. Not quite overpowering.

Wild Turkey 101. Not a lot of subtlety, but I lack that quality as well.

Sometimes subtlety isn't necessary nor desired. Wild Turkey 101 kicks azz

I’ll say it again, there’s no better bourbon anywhere near the price as 101.

Last night, Balvenie Caribbean Cask followed by Naked Grouse
Today, Ardbeg 10, Talisker Skye (EU NAS release) and Laphroaig Quarter Cask - in the 60’s so I’m freezing

May have been in the 60's but not that cold.

Which is why I feel confident that this thread will continue without missing a beat...

Think they still make it. But you gotta be in the mood for heavy peat. An interesting bottle, supposedly made traditionallyvas it was made 200 hundred years ago from an ancient recipe. I could bring it over sometime, but I don't think you do Scotch if I remember correctly.

Suntory Old Whisky

Not Scotch but as a Japanese whisky, it’s close. My Mainland friend, Steve K., gave me this while I was in Vegas last week so cracked it open tonight and shared some with our son.
