You better never get an address. Your comments have reached the point the hole will take out the entire complex.

Yeah. I am patiently waiting for bourbon and brisket to fall back off of the hipsters radar so prices get back to normal. Pray

It'll also bring back age statements to mid-priced bourbons, which steadily disappeared as the hipster locusts drained away most of the aged stocks in the warehouses, leaving age statements only on higher-end bourbons.

For example, Knob Creek has a standard version at 100 proof and a single barrel version at 120 proof. Both used to have a "9-year" age statement. Now only the pricier single barrel version does and the standard version's label is enter silent on the issue or says "patiently aged" which is of zero value.

"Elijah Craig 12-Year" became "Elijah Craig Small Batch", and so on.

Even some lower-priced* bourbons like Evan Williams and Ezra Brooks used to have 7-year age statements if I remember right, which disappeared from their labels when the hipster hoardes began attacking some years back.

Let's hope the hipsters move on soon to the "next big thing"! And dear god, DO NOT let it be cigars again, like the 1990s. It'd ruin the industry again!

(* = both are lower-end in price only, they're pretty tasty and bang-for-buck champions!)

Elijah Craig Small Batch, formerly Elijah Craig 12-Year, before the hipster idiots set their sights on bourbon as "the new thing".

I'm drinking it in my favorite rocks glass of all time, the Bormioli Rocco Sorgente DOF, made in Italy:

https://www.bormiolirocco.com/en/product/799/d-o-f-glass-sorgente

I always joke that it's designed that way because when it looks straight and perfectly cylindical to you, that's your cue that it's time to stop drinking. Convenient!

To be a little more precise, the Elijah Craig Small Batch Barrel Proof is now the 12-year, 120+ proof whiskey. What is sold as the EC Small Batch is NAS and 94 proof.

Yup. What I meant was, pre-hipsters, the standard EC had a 12-year age statement, and now it doesn't. You now have to spend quite a bit more to get the age statement. Thanks, hipsters!

I've had the 86 proof and it's just ok.I have always wondered if the VOB proof difference is like Old Forester 86 vs 100 proof. The 86 OF is drinkable but nothing special, the 100 proof is fantastic and IMHO the best value bourbon coming out of Kentucky.

I remember the scotch, LOL, and knew I kept seeing that glass with more in it on the regular! I would've been hurting bad!!!

Actually, I did open a bottle of ORVW from '15 and had a couple of pours while laughing last night. GOOD STUFF!
