Balcones 1: because America can make some damn fine single malts, too.
Texas might have massive deadly hurricanes, mile wide tornadoes and grapefruit sized hail, but this here whiskey is just another of its redeeming qualities.
Cheers, gents!

Currently having a Dalmore Cigar Blend with a Cohiba Macassar. Also a big fan of Balvinie Single Malt. Buffalo Trace is my go-to bourbon. Also a fan of Angles Envy.

Is Balcones more of a Scotch-ish adult beverage than a Bourbon?

Did notice it's spelled "whisky" and not "whiskey" so thinking it's more the former than latter.

Balconies has a single malt that is very good,Lineage Texas single malt( not tried this one) plus a host of other whiskies. My favorite is the Texas pot stilled bourbon. It's you can't get this in the islands.............have LFR willing to travel.

they make a couple or three bourbons out of blue corn, a powerhouse Texas rum, something called Rumble that's not rum but some kind of 90+proof liquor made from wildflower honey, and some other stuff...none of which are for lightweights.

I have been busy learning the craft and aging my own in new charred mini white oak barrels for about the last 2-2 1/2 years. For personal medicinal use only of course....the best yet has been a four grain MBill aged just shy of 1yr in 5L mini white oak barrel...went into bottle @ 1 4 2 P. Beer

George Dickey Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey.

Sipping it doesn’t work, so mixing with coke. 40/60 mix seems to cut the sweet about right.

I have to agree with you there. If you're drinking the single barrel bourbon I recommend trying the single barrel select. It will knock your socks off. Drool
