Went out this morning for a little fun on a day-off. Stopped by a local shop and ended up walking out with 2 cobs, some filters and a couple samples of their blends. They didn't have any tins of the stuff you guys have been talking about so now I need to buy a couple to figure out if I have a new habit or not. Wish me luck.

I just ordered some sample tins based on the advice Ron gave to wheel. Will try a bowl later of the samples I got today, although I'm a little confused with the wood stem of the pipe being exposed in the bowl, I'm assuming I'll need to waste a good bit of tobacco each time to not burn the wood. Any advice? They are the missouri meerschaum cobs.

Don't sweat it.......first few bowls you may even taste the wood as you get to the bottom of the bowl, that'll go away quickly. With time a cake will form around the edges of the shank that extend into the bowl and it will appear as if it were made rounded.

Enjoy.........if you want a custom cob PM me for the website.

And NO I do not make custom pipe lighters..........Y'ALL STOP THAT!!!

Noob question - the cob I bought came with a filter...should I keep it or toss it? Getting ready to pack my first bowl in 19 years( I messed around in HS but had no clue what I was doing).

My first was just ok, I'm not sure if it was breaking in a new cob or if the sample/free tobacco was crappy or not for me. I have some orlick on the way so hoping for more on round 2.

595 - freight train... couldn't wait for the new pipe.... really enjoyed it... probably one of my faves so far... not quite as strong as the name and description implied, but still very good imo...

600-anniversary cake

noticed the wall of my new general had a thin area. inspected it and also found the hardwood plug in bottom was way off center. saved a few dollars on it from ebay. thought the seller was getting them wholesale and making a few dollars while saving buyers a couple bucks. instead they are buying bags of seconds and reselling and misrepresenting them as unblemished originals. sent a note to seller but 14 days may have passed and i am sol. sometimes being a cheap azz doesn't pay

603 - h&h marble kake... it was alright... nothing special...

604 - ten to midnight... when I first read about what latakia was, I thought for sure I was going to love it... I've only had this and the strikeforce, but I'm fairly certain I'm not a big fan of latakia...

Latakia is like eating grapefruit. You enjoy it alot or learn to like it.

The smell of wet campfire is too uch for some to overcome.

I really like SPP Plum Pudding at night on occasion.
