I like the plum pudding but struggle keeping the pressed baccy lit. I know this is blasphemous but penzance disappointed me.

Va/burs is what I love. Try petersons university flake, MacBaren Plum Cake, peter stockeybyes bullseye flake, and my fav stonehaven.

First off don't feel like the LONE ranger.I will occasionally burn a bowl of Penzanze,I've not found it life altering as some would have you believe.Few blends with Latakia have won me over.

While we're on the subject of Va/Burs.........(27)Peterson's Perfect Plug(3P's) for breakfast with some Seattle's Best Dark Roast.Grrrrrrrr if you like vaburs I think you'll love this.very difficult to prep for the pipe but absolutely worth the effort.Thinking bout getting an paper cutter like every teacher used to have in the classroom back in the day.Been using a razor knife to whittle on it....I might try the coffee grinder with the next plug. This has become my all time favorite vabur hands down.

Ahh yes I AGREE the PS LTF is excellent.ThumpUp
It's a 100% Virginia blend.

The PS Bullseye Flake has some Perique(i do love many Perique blends) and some cavendish in it, and is a verryy popular bulk. I do like it though just don't love it.

So many blends..that is what makes pipes so fun..Angel

Peretti Cuban Mixture has been on my TAD list for sometime now.I guess I just need to breakdown and order a tin.

OGS is already a favorite.......few tobaccos satisfy as much as this.

Not that I'm aware of.........but I've never really looked either.

My suggestion would be to try a few samples of each general variety.....Virginia's,Vapers,vaburs,burley's,oriental,lats so on and so forth. That'll at least give you an idea of where your taste lies.

IMO..It's a fantastic burley ..whole alot of stuff going on in the bowl. It took me some getting used to but it's one of those baccys that just seem to get better the more you try.
I don't think they sell it by the tin i always order 8.oz of it . In fact, ordering more tomorrow because i'm very lowram27bat .

If you want i would be more than happy to send you some to try when i get my fresh order.Angel

yes OSG is consistently brilliant.

Any Sutliff blends you'd recommend? Tried my first bowlful of CD blend which was good but nothing distinctive, but I know even less about pipe baccy "tastes" than cigars.

I'm simple-I either like it or don't. "Leather"? "Earth"? "Cedar"? I'm smoking tobacco not those things....

seeing a bit of a trend here....

Gonna try the Borkum Riff 22 tomorrow, first flavored/aromatic. May have to clean out one of the estate pipes I recently picked up-aromatics "ghost" pretty bad, right?
