Ashley thanks you for the Robust Cigars, the LtCol and I thank you for the
Milds, we are planning a fun day in a few weeks and these Cigar will be
perfect for this celebration. Thank you and all the kind folks the work
with you for their support. As you can probably guess, Marines love
CIGARS!!! I almost couldn't fit them all in my Pelican case, almost. The
LtCol and I will smoke a few tonight in your honor.

Thanks so much for thinking about us. We will certainly be thinking about
all of you when se light them up.

Warmest regards

I would like to thank every one for the wonderful support that the Rough
Riders and I received during our deployment. We have about 3 weeks left
in country and then we will all be back home! It has been a long and hot
deployment. I did do one more humanitarian mission with the kids. I was
able to hand out everything that was left. I hope we made a difference
some how and in some way! Maybe not with the parents but I believe it
starts with the kids! I have attached the newsletter and hope that you
enjoy it! You all have been very wonderful!

Beth,

We just received the cigar and goodies package. I just wanted to send you a note and thank you for your incredible generosity. It is always amazing to see how much support we get from back home. I did also want to let you know that we have several Soldiers in my unit from New Mexico. I will ensure that they get a good cut of the booty.

We did also enjoy Iria's artwork. Please pass our thanks to Erica as well.

Thank you so much again, we all really appreciate it. God bless you,

Ian

Dear Beth,

Thank-you so much for the amazing care package that you sent me. Just wanted to let you know that it came right on my birthday, so it was pretty amazing! I was actually looking for a cigar to smoke and the package was absolutely perfect. My Marines were extatic when I went around giving them cigars. The candy was right on as well. Thank-you so much for taking the time & money to send me & my Marines that great care package. Thank you!

Thanks to Plowboy221, Boiler EMT, zitotczito, jeferris and many others for your generosity in sending cigars and lots of other goodies for me to forward to the Troops. You all make these messages possible!

And while I'm at it - thanks to Trish@CigarBid for un-snafu-ing the order that I horked up. I bought about 100 cutters for the Troops and messed up the order - and Trish fixed me up. Thanks! -B

We know we're doing a great job when guys and gals refer new Troop Targets to us! I got this email last week - packages have already gone in his direction, but I wanted to share this with you.

Quote:
Ma’am,

I am currently assigned to Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. I work with about a dozen military folks comprised of Air Force, Army, and Navy personnel. Most of us are here on six month rotations. I was wondering if your organization would be will to provide some care packages?

Lt Col Ryan Bakazan

Thank you in advance and for your support.

Quote:

Just wanted to pass along thanks for cheering up the Airmen's day today. I
haven't seen smiles like this on their face in a while (see attached). As luck
would have it, I opened the package you sent while the other packages were
being delivered. A few Airmen who I knew liked cigars came in and while they
didn't have packages of their own to open they got an awesome surprise when
they saw the cigars and the cutters. The three in the photo will distribute to
the rest of the squadron for all to enjoy.

I'm sure the other items in the package will be gone before the end of the day
too.

Thanks so much for taking care of our guys. The support from home means more
than you can imagine!

V/r,

Capt Hartman

I will post the picture on another thread, "Real smiles from our Troops" because I don't think I can add additional photos here. Find that thread, it's great seeing genuine smiles on these guys' faces!

Thank-you to all of you who have been so generous! -B

Thank you so very much for the two care packages you sent. They are amazing. You and your organization went ABOVE & BEYOND. Everything in there was terrific. I couldn’t believe how many cigars you sent. I am sharing them with the folks I am deployed with and they were all very very very very thankful!

It is a true blessing that we have the support that great folks like you provide to us while we are deployed. It really makes a big difference and truly lifts our spirits.

Thank you again!!

I remember the first box I received. I believe it was from CFW...it was an awesome box. I still have one cigar left from that box about 1.5 years ago, original El Triunfador Lancero with pigtail.

Excellent work!

Beth and OpFTH,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I received the second care package you sent me and my unit. The cigars are such a treat. I shared them with those in my deployed unit over a weekend BBQ we put together. The cigars were no doubt the highlight.

Your care package went a long way to boost our morale. Everyone asked me to thank you. It means so much to have Americans recognize our service and to continue to keep all of us deployed members in their thoughts and prayers.
I am here with my unit through the first week in Oct. Please do keep us on any future mailings, but I understand if you have other groups that need packages as well. You’ve already spoiled us.

Thanks again, from Bagram Air Field Afghanistan.

Beth,

I can’t thank you enough for overly generous gift box you sent. As I mentioned in my posting in Any Marine, I am serving with mainly members of the coalition over here, such as British, Norwegian, Australian, Czech Republic and Italian military. They were all alternately confused and amazed at the generosity of the American people.

Interesting that you sent 2 boxes of cigars, as well as the accessories, because several of us here enjoy a nice cigar and we recently discussed starting a “cigar club” here. We have a German officer who has a humidor. So thank you very, very much!!

Thank-you to all of you who support OpFTH. This really makes a different for our guys and gals over there - the need is great. I put business cards in with packages I sent to the Troops, and invite the guys and gals to pass them along to a buddy who would like cigars and goodies. I got both of these this week, and packages are en route as we speak. -B

Just got the box and I can’t tell you how excited everyone was. Several of us proceeded to retire to our fire pit and enjoy the variety of cigars.

I know this is expensive, so, again, THANK YOU!

Although most of the guys I’m here with are Special Forces, I’ve told them that they will have no choice but to pose for a photo op to send you, of us enjoying the cigars. I am a novice, but I’m learning to enjoy them more and more.

Beth,

My fellow Marines and I thoroughly enjoyed the contents of your package. Although these Marines receive packages from family and friends, I believe receiving packages from the “Operation From The Heart” program is a great boost to their morale. Just for them to know that the general American public cares and appreciates their service and sacrifice means the world to them.

I do hope this e-mail finds you well and I thank you for your all you do for me, these Marines, and all military service men and women deployed around the world.

Respectfully,

Sergeant Major Jason P. Moffitt

Beth,
Thanks for the cigars... They are most appreciated as we celebrate every week that I am not busy... meaning every week that we don't lose a Service Member we lit a cigar.

Respectfully Submitted,

And just an FYI, to anyone who is still reading this - I've been doling out my personal cigars to the Troops for a while. If anyone can spare some sticks or snacks for troops, I'd appreciate it. No need to send anything for me, Shame on you Shame on you I just enjoy sending to the troops. Thanks, -B

Rumor has it that your organization has the potential to send pipe tobacco to deployed troops. Well it just so happens that I'm deployed to the Middle East with a bunch of pipe smokers that can't buy it here and are having trouble ordering some and getting it shipped out here. I would love to be able to surprise these guys with some tobacco if it's possible. If that's possible my address is *redacted for security reasons*, either way I really appreciate what you're doing for the troops. Happy Thanksgiving. CWO Jason D. Anderson

Rest assured, a package of pipe tobacco and cigars has gone out to these guys. Please find my Prickly Pear Jelly thread to donate cigars (or anything else for the troops, like pipe tobacco) for prickly pear jelly. -B

I just wanted to write and say thank you! One of my friends here in Iraq received some of the care packages with cigars and was kind enough to share. Thank you! It means so much that people back home take their time, money, and effort to do something nice for those of us over here and it truly means a lot. Not only that, it is enjoyable. We set up a bonfire and shared cigars with friends as the Iraqi nights have finally cooled off. I hope you and your supporters have a very Merry Christmas!
